>>I think the RCC doctrines are a product of the enemy<<
Please tell us where we stand here. Examples welcome, but I'm not sure that actual names can be used when quoting another FReeper, so date and thread title may be better.
You said: I know many Catholics who do NOT have the Holy Spirit. What about them?
How do you know they don’t? Are you God? It is a VERY serious matter to set oneself up as the judge of state of another person’s soul. Reprimanding behavior is one thing. Judging the state of another’s soul should be left to Jesus.
If nothing else I appreciate the honesty. It sure beats the typical "we believe that too" refrain.
I understand.
My husband has an elderly aunt who is a nun. She refers to herself as a Bible believing charismatic born agin Catholic.
She has been a nun since she was about 17 or so, she is now about 90. I asked her why she stayed a Catholic and her response was, “hey I’m old its not like anyones going to marry me now” and she just laughs and laughs.
She works in south Central LA helping out the locals. A fine and very brave woman, she is a dear.
“SHEM” is capitalised because it’s the Hebrew for “name,” meaning the name of God, YHVH, which Jews avoid using in any context in which it will not be used with the utmost reverence.
But why don’t you capitalise the vav in YHVH?
So why is it that you throw the capital letters in?
I’m genuinely asking because I never see people do it on the Jewish threads.
Of course...you are correct. My apologies.
There are Catholic Charismatics. As I remember, Tax-Chick and all her little chicks are Catholic Charismatic!
Actually, that is not what they are saying. That is what you are interpreting. I encourage you to read CCC 845 and 846. Furthermore, I would encourage all Protestants here to read CCC 818. There have been references to Trent and Anathmas, and statements that anathmas can’t be revoked when dealing with a person. This is true, as evidenced by CCC 818. The Doctrines that Luther and Calvin, etc proposed are still held to be unorthodox by the Catholic Church, and the anathmas of those doctrines would still hold. However, individuals 500 years later can’t be held to the anathmas that Trent stated as the CCC “clearly points out”.

Here is a nice article from Catolic answers that explains Anathmas quite well.

Yod Hey (Yah) in Hebrew is the Name of Elohim. Yah became man ( becoming the Pesach Lamb and shed His blood) for our salvation.

vav represents man in Hebrew;
Vav is the number six in Hebrew.
The letter "Hey" is the breath of Elohim. (Genesis 17:5)
Man was created on the sixth day.
Man works for six days
There are six millennia before the coming of the Messiah.
The beast is identified with the symbol of man "666"
When Elohim added a "Hey" to Abram and Sarai's names
making them known as Abraham and Sarah by breathing
the Ru'ach Elohim into them.

And are you a Jew for Jesus? Again I’m not trying to be smarmy, just asking.
The point is this there are both Catholics and Protestants who bear both good and bad fruit. There are Protestants who are better Christians than some Catholics and vice-versa. The wheat grows with the tares just like our Lord said and the examples we have posted prove this to be true. We had a wonderful African American Priest Father Cedric who taught this marevelously well. We who try to live faithfully by Christ’s teachings need to support one another and pray for one another’s sucess in reaching the lost for Christ. We need not do this as outlined in Proverbs 17:
26To impose a fine on the innocent is not right,or to flog the noble for their integrity.
It is God’s commandment that we Christians love one another period.
Well, I do agree Liberation Theology is heretical. My previous post was a little cryptic. What I should have stated is that this Priest is obviously a pupil of Liberation Theology, which was rejected by Pope John Paul II. However, until he does something that is “outright heretical”, I am not sure what Cardinal George can do.
And please note, I think Liberation Theology in all its ugly forms is garbage be it Feminist LIberation Theology (ie. Woman’s ordination) or marxist economic liberation thelogy.

So you’re quoting Fr. Hardon as the Vatican?
I never said anything about anathma.
I have no argument with what you are saying, and it may surprise you that that was exactly the point I was making in the form of an admonition to those who constantly use the most vile attacks on their fellow Christians right here on FR.
Stated another way, when you start saying that others will be known by their fruit, it is best to check your own produce.
Liberation theology is also called “Christian Communism”

Wikipedia does a pretty good job on this.
Amen.
Edit to my own post, “This is not true, as evidenced by CCC 818”
So why is it that you throw the capital letters in? Im genuinely asking because I never see people do it on the Jewish threads.
PJ is correct ! It is respect and reverence for the Holy Name of G-d.
