WOW!

Good for him.

For you lurkers, there are very few solid Reformed books that don’t feature an endorsement by Packer.

It’s past time for those that believe in their church and its traditions and the Bible to either kick out the destroyers, or to leave. Good for this guy.

Somebody with guts to stand against deviant sexual behavior. Homosexuals have done much harm to Catholics, Presbys and several other churches but perhaps the tide will turn since so many homos turn out to be homopeds, the part that yet hides in the closet waiting for hollywood to paint the picture as a normal caring behavior. In a decade NAMBLA will be exalted and those opposed will be labeled pedophobes.

""I think it's very unfair when any new insight that departs from an accepted position is labelled 'heretical'," said Rev. Kevin Dixon.

The priest called the Vancouver-area diocese's decision to bless same-sex relationships "a recognition of what's true in light of contemporary research in genetics and psychology."

Dixon said Packer is adopting a "literalistic" reading of the Bible when he takes Paul's 2,000-year-old words as proof for all time that the Supreme Being condemns homosexuality.

"It's the same process of logic that leads to supporting slavery," Dixon said, noting that the apostle of Jesus also did not oppose slavery.

"It's important for people to understand that the holy scriptures is a very nuanced document. I think we need to allow people room to come to a new understanding," said Dixon.

"I have not always held the view that same-sex relationships are consistent with the gospel of Jesus Christ, but now I do." "

Oh for Pete's sake! What can one say to this drivel!?

Wouldn't it be alot easier for them to simply write their own ‘bible’ and call it something other than Christian? I mean, really. These people are delusional if they think they represent Christianity.

The shrinks did a grave disservice to mankind when they “declassified” homosexuality as a mental disorder. Of the open homosexuals I’ve met, I can say all of them exhibit some sort of mental disorder independent of their sexually perverse practices.

No, it’s not natural. And the homosexuals and their apologists have to turn logic and common sense upside down to make it appear “normal.” As such, Dixon’s drivel comes as no surprise.

The globalist ET buddies have probably swapped brains on the idiot—as well as installed a remmote control/ID/locator chip.

Goodness, he might have even gotten a brain of a grey that was nearing the end of its year and a half life-span.

Then if he’s been watching Shrillery or Peanutbrain on TV, that could have caused a great deal further loss of scarce IQ points.

/some sar . . . does it show?

It's important for people to understand that the holy scriptures is a very nuanced document.

In fact, it's so nuanced that "white" can mean "black," "yes" can mean "no", "5" can mean zero, "bent" can mean "straight", "abomination" can mean ... [</s] ...

Good for J.I. Packer.

"Dixon said, noting that the apostle of Jesus also did not oppose slavery."

Uhhhh, the only part of the NT that touches on the subject is Paul's letter to Phileman urging him to release his slave Onesimus. The Torah is the part of the Bible which specifically condones human chattel slavery, not the NT.

As a former Anglican, I can state truly that the church is lost. The homosexual lobby of the church won the battle, and not enough true Christian men and women stood up to them. Remember Gene? It is a greater loss than we now understand. Look what has happened to England.

God bless this man, he stands for truth in an age when truth is compromised under the banner of PC.

I might be mistaken ... but wasn’t Packer the one who renounced the doctrine of eternal punishment a few years back?

I might be mistaken, too ... but you may be thinking of John R. W. Stott.

The church is FAR from lost. The original churches in the US, UK, Canada, NZ... yes, but that's only a very few million of the 77 million Anglicans worldwide.
