For years I have been trying to determine how people who call themselves Christians can justifiably vote for a candidate who represents a down right evil platform. A liberal’s support for such abominations as gay marriage, abortion and other issues that are repulsive to and are directly in defiance to the word of God. I could never understand how a person can sit in church on Sunday morning and then go out the very next day to rally around a candidate or become a candidate who not only supports such issues but fights to promote them as well.

They are not Churches. They are just liberal social clubs.

I guarantee you, every last one of those places calls itself the "Something or Other Church of Something" and is lead by a "Pastor", a "Reverend", or even a "Bishop" who would swear up one side and down the other that it is "Christian".

Your opinion (and mine) to the contrary would not faze them in the slightest.

There's the rub. Anyone can call themselves a Christian.

They have recreated a "Christianity" of their own, to fit their own ideological agenda, that has nothing to do with traditional Christian principles or Christ's true nature. Particularly in the "Liberation Theology" churches, black or otherwise.

Ah, Ms. Borei ... your comments are fine as far as they go, but they don't go very far at all. Why focus on "liberal politics," when there are plenty of conservative pastors whose actions are just as sinful. Look at Ted Haggard, say, or any number of others. There's plenty of theft, sex, lying, and whatnot on all sides of the political spectrum.

The point being ... it's fine to complain about liberal political biases among certain clergy, but it's only one of a plethora of false gods that pastors can end up worshipping... and when all is said and done, I suspect that there is actually a common "god" in most of those cases: the pastor himself.
