From the article:

"God wants us to honor and obey him according to His instructions in His Word...."

‘Would Jesus Christ Celebrate Easter?’

He already has. The article’s conclusion are more legalism.

Would Jesus come to lead the Easter sunrise service? Maybe, but he would have a few remarks that would probably astonish the crowd, not in the style of Rev Wright at all, but more like ‘Wake up!’

I think it depends on what one celebrates at Easter. Springtime? Bunnies? Candy? Roast leg of lamb for dinner?

Then, no. But if you celebrate, with thanks and reflection, the miracle and gift of the Resurrection and the Promise it fulfills, then you’re on-message.

Jesus Christ is Easter.

The "celebration" is recognition of that.

If homosexuality, abortion on demand, rejecting the Bible as too judgmental and patriarchcal is acceptable to the major denominations’ leaders why would they choke on the ‘camel’ of pagan Easter?
Why their would their followers be different when they've been fed on Darwinism, the social gospel, environmentalism, and divers other popular nostrum?

Naturally Jesus would celebrate the passover being a Jew and under the Mosaic Law but with His resurrection that Law was fulfilled and the opportunity to become part of ‘spiritual Israel’ went out to non-Jews. Christians do not celebrate the passover but commemorate Christ’s death.

No, Jesus would celebrate Passover AND Resurrection Sunday. Eggs and rabbits? Why would He have anything to do with that pagan aspect of Easter?

When I was a kid it was fun to color eggs and fun to hunt for them.
And what kid doesn’t like candy?

When my mom and us colored the eggs, nobody was around telling us they were symbols of fertility and a pagan practice.

In our church, there is nothing spooky or pagan about the service.
It’s just another service with a specific message, which is all about worshiping God.

I don’t believe Jesus would have a problem with most services on Easter and I’m positive he wouldn’t have a problem with kids having harmless fun.

Of course Jesus would celebrate Easter. It is only called “easter” in countries with a germanic, anglo-saxon language. Elsewhere it’s called passover (in one form or another.)

So, the question is really this: “Would Jesus approve of Christians remembering His final Passover week and resurrection?”

The answer is a resounding “YES!”

a late-nite radio host once gave a wringing rebuke to his fellow christians

after hearing the message of Yeshua, instead of following HIM in the path HE directed, they continue to debate the directional sign HE left - was it made out of word or stone, did it point east or west, was it shaped like a circle or a triangle, was it painted red or was it painted white ———

neither the man-made ‘day’ of a celebration, nor the man-made physical accoutrements used to display a celebration define a celebration - it is defined in your heart, by that which your heart is celebrating

if one must rebuke some christians for easter, as much could be condemned, with as much scholarship, for the dec 24th christmas holiday, yet to what benefit????

Ah, yes! This article comes from "The Good News: A Magazine of Understanding." This would be the magazine of a splinter-group successor to Herbert W. Armstrong's Worldwide Church of God, yes? Unfortunately for the late Mr. Armstrong, his many novel doctrines are all over 1900 years too late in their formulation to be expositions of "authentic, primitive" Christianity, and most of the others that he borrowed seldom have, in turn, more than a 200 year-old pedigree themselves, which is equally incapable of establishing apostolic origins to the doctrines! Armstrongism is little more than a cult, in which an appreciation for historical Christianity is of no concern whatsoever. Lauditory, extensive use of that hack and fraud Hislop (!) as source material for much of this article is certain proof of this magazine's complete disregard for the continuous, 2000-year witness of true Christianity, from the Apostolic Era to the Early Fathers, and down to our own day.

What utter rubbish this article is! It makes objections that never existed for very near 1900 years since the time of Christ, and still dares to complain of the novelty of Easter celebrations! Whew!

Jesus did celebrate Easter!

He broke bread with the disciples who had listened to him as they traveled to Emaus.

Upon doing so, he disappeared.
