Childish behavior |

They're called the "Lost Boys," the teenagers kicked out of their homes and communities by leaders of the polygamist Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to ensure there's an ample supply of single, young women who will one day become plural wives. Representative Lorie Fowlke (R-Orem), is running a bill to make this abandonment a felony.
"Estimates are that we've had more than 1,000 children - primarily in southern Utah - thrown out of their homes," Fowlke says. "What we were trying to do with this bill is criminalize this behavior and send a message to this community that they can't just throw away their children."
H.B. 23 adds child abandonment to the definition of child abuse, and makes it a felony crime. It also adds an enhancement if a parent or organization benefits from the child's abandonment to further an illegal enterprise, such as polygamy. This is the case with the FLDS church, says Roger Hoole, a lawyer who represents some of the displaced young men and sits on the board for the Utah Association for Justice. He says the church benefits from kicking out young men who would compete for plural wives. This, he says, has devastating consequences.
"There's a huge impact that's coming, like a tsunami, that's going to hit the state of Utah, when these boys get a little older and realize what has happened to them and get angry," Hoole says. "There's a real problem here."
Fowlke's bill gained unanimous support in a Senate committee this morning, and now heads to the full Senate for consideration.
You want me to return to the Baptist Church. When I was growing up, you cannot imagine the evil horrible comments I heard from Baptists about Black people and they used the “n” word regularly. Those were the Baptists I grew up with, pal. And they taught that speaking in tongues was from the devil. “Once saved, always saved.” I knew something was wrong.
Catholics are into Mary too much. I knew something was wrong, at least for me. It was fun to be a Pentecostal. You get to dance and jump and down and have a great ol’ time. What happened there was the healing message got me confused. They say they believe in miraculous healing but no one ever gets healed. Come on, FReeper pal, it’s confusing.
One preacher preaches one concept and another preacher preaches the exact opposite!! And most of the churches I attended put down Mormons.
When I say “authority” - I mean it’s settled for me. Once and for all. Jesus Christ is the Head of my Church. Jesus is my Savior, Redeemer and Soon Coming King. I love Him so much and appreciate so much His Atoning Sacrifice for me and for the whole world. It was Heavenly Father’s Plan and the Holy Ghost is my Witness.
And we have no paid clergy. I like that. My Bishop, bless his heart, has to put up with all the horrendous problems we create, and he does not get paid for all he does for us. Poor guy; I feel sorry for him. We have no paid clergy. We are a peculiar people. And don’t even get me started on the wonderful LDS Missionaries and all the good work our Church does all over the world. I am so happy to be a member of this Church.
You believe the way you want to; I will believe the way I want to. Thanks. Ain’t America grand?
The very first PM communique came from you to me...
The denominations within Christianity have to remember this
1Co 12:14 For the body is not one member, but many.
Each denomination fits into God's plan, but the bottom line is -
He is whispering to you that He wants to be your Savior.
No discerning is not judging it is to be aware.
***
You do recognized foxy, you jump from obvious actions of one mocking or physically turning ones own words against them to
“Reading the hearts and minds of others is NOT discernment”
These two actions are not related one is physically done there is no mindreading involved the person knows beyond a doubt what took place.
If someone hits your or kicks you there is no mindreading needed!:)
“Reading the hearts and minds of others is beyond man scope.
Discernment: Because these things are hard to hear this person continues to take my words out of context and turns them on me LOL
So how are the two different?
You know I answered that question many post ago are you starting another one of those persistence stunts again this evening?
Resty that post was from this morning
How are you tonight ???
did you have a good day ???
!
When one claims "discernment" in painting others in THIS light:
Those scriptures I gave pretty much describes the degrees of what I said.
Gal 5 (behavior of the natural man)
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
It is NOT taking them out of "context". One should be prepared to submit PROOF of these actions when making the accusations, or better yet, refrain from making them.
I received a PM from you timestamped by FR at 8:40pm last nite, the 22nd...the one and only PM I sent to you, was sent after that, timestamped by FR, at 9:35pm, the 22nd...I received the second PM from you, timestamped by FR at 10:11pm the 22nd...
I have two PMs from you sitting in my mailbox...one from 8:40pm and one from 10:11 both from last evening...I have copies of them, if you wish to see them...
I sent you only one PM, and that only after I received the one from you at 8:40...
As I said, I do have copies of both of your PMs to me, and they are of course, both timestamped by FR....if you would like to see them, I would be happy to provide you with the copies of both of your PMs to me...
I can’t believe you this is what the scriptures say so it is so hard to hear but all that I have posted was scripture and it did not have a name it was a word from the Lord.
you want to say those are not natural man actions they are the dogs?
I want to say that I don’t believe that the FReepers that are accused of “natural man” beliefs or actions deserve that kind of slur.
>>When I googled the Rev. Arnold Murray and found out that he was a leader in the racist Christian Identity movement it surprised me to find his views being promoted on FR and even on this thread.
But I dont really know the ins and outs of the religious forums.<<
Really? I’ve only casually listened to some of his responses to questions about the bible and had not noticed that - I would have turned a preacher off in a heart beat if I heard him promoting “racist Christian Identity movement.”
I believe I just encountered a 25 watt bulb!:)
And you said all that to what purpose...???
I will NEVER PM you again...
Accidental or otherwise...
It takes a 15 watt bulb to recognize a 25 watt bulb ;) Good night resty, bedtime, don’t let any “natural” men in your house.
I have a right to question the Mormon Church because:
MORMON SCRIPTURE INVITES EXAMINATION AND CRITICISM
Doctrine and Covenants sees such criticism as an opportunity to shame the critics of the church:
Wherefore, confound your enemies; call upon them to meet you both in public and in private; and inasmuch as ye are faithful their shame shall be made manifest. Wherefore, let them bring forth their strong reasons against the Lord. Verily, thus saith the Lord unto youthere is no weapon that is formed against you shall prosper; And if any man lift his voice against you he shall be confounded in mine own due time. D&C 71:7-10MORMON LEADERS INVITE EXAMINATION AND CRITICISM
I say to the whole world, receive the truth, no matter who presents it to you. Take up the Bible, compare the religion of the Latter-day Saints with it, and see if it will stand the test I am more afraid that this people have so much confidence in their leaders that they will not inquire for themselves of God whether they are led by Him let every man and woman know themselves, whether their leaders are walking in the path the Lord dictates or not. This has been my exhortation continually. Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, 16:46, as cited by Harold B. Lee, Conference Report, October 1950, pp. 129-130).IT IS ESSENTIAL TO EXAMINE THE MORMON CHURCHIf Joseph [Smith] was a deceiver, who willfully attempted to mislead people, then he should be exposed, his claims should be refuted, and his doctrines shown to be false. LDS President Joseph Fielding Smith, Doctrines of Salvation, vol. 1 pp 188-189
The Book of Mormon must be either true or false. If true, it is one of the most important messages ever sent from God. If false, it is one of the most cunning, wicked, bold, deep-laid impositions ever palmed upon the world, calculated to deceive and ruin millions. The nature of the Book of Mormon is such, that if true, no one can possibly be saved and reject it; If false, no one can possibly be saved and receive it. If, after a rigid examination, it be found imposition, it should be extensively published to the world as such; the evidences and arguments on which the imposture was detected, should be clearly and logically stated, that those who have been sincerely yet unfortunately deceived, may perceive the nature of deception, and to be reclaimed, and that those who continue to publish the delusion may be exposed and silenced by strong and powerful arguments by evidences adduced from scripture and reason. Apostle Orson Pratt, Orson Pratt's Works, Divine Authenticity of the Book of Mormon, Liverpool, 1851, pp. 1,2
Don't you agree that, with time and all eternity at stake, it is imperative for us to discover the truth while we are still on this earth?
Doesn't your Church tell you to seek the truth? Doesn't your Church teach you should share the truth with others? Don't we both have a right to know the truth? Doesn't your Church teach you will be blessed if you find the truth? Don't we both have a right to that blessing? Won't you please help me find the truth?
LoL
Saudra, when I was growing up, YOU cannot imagine the horrible comments I heard from Mormons about Black people and the "N" word was not only used regularly, it was used almost exclusively every time a Mormon would refer to a black person. That is the honest truth.
After I left the Mormon Church, I went to a Southern Baptist Church for a while and never heard anyone there refer to Black people in the derogatory manner in which I had heard Mormons refer to them. Back when I was growing up, the Mormons were teaching that the reason people were born black was because they were less valiant in the pre-existence and the black skin was a curse from God.
You've been a Mormon all of 8 years. You were obviously not exposed to the type of racism that was commmonplace in the Mormon Church back in the 1960's when I was growing up. Now the Southern Baptists have their bad history too, but I don't think it was born out of a belief that black people were born black because they were cursed by God. It was just a natural prejudice that is part of our sinful nature. I would venture to guess that if you went to a Southern Baptist Church today, that you would not hear such blatant racism as you were exposed to.
Those were the Baptists I grew up with, pal.
And those were the Mormons I grew up with "Pal".
I am ashamed to say that this kind of prejudice was rampant in my extended Mormon family. When I was growing up, Mormons believed that Blacks were an inferior race and that it was a blessing to be "White and Delightsome" and how it was a reflection of how valiant we were in the pre-existence not only to be born "white and delightsome", but to be born into a Mormon family.
That peculiar doctrine appears to have been changed and the Mormon Church now will not even admit that it taught such demonic doctrines in the past. Talk about contradictions and hypocrisy.
