FLDS Parents Could Face Charges for Abandoning their "Lost Boys"
KCPW News ^ | February 14, 2008

Posted on 02/22/2008 9:11:12 AM PST by Zakeet

They're called the "Lost Boys," the teenagers kicked out of their homes and communities by leaders of the polygamist Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to ensure there's an ample supply of single, young women who will one day become plural wives. Representative Lorie Fowlke (R-Orem), is running a bill to make this abandonment a felony.

"Estimates are that we've had more than 1,000 children - primarily in southern Utah - thrown out of their homes," Fowlke says. "What we were trying to do with this bill is criminalize this behavior and send a message to this community that they can't just throw away their children."

H.B. 23 adds child abandonment to the definition of child abuse, and makes it a felony crime. It also adds an enhancement if a parent or organization benefits from the child's abandonment to further an illegal enterprise, such as polygamy. This is the case with the FLDS church, says Roger Hoole, a lawyer who represents some of the displaced young men and sits on the board for the Utah Association for Justice. He says the church benefits from kicking out young men who would compete for plural wives. This, he says, has devastating consequences.

"There's a huge impact that's coming, like a tsunami, that's going to hit the state of Utah, when these boys get a little older and realize what has happened to them and get angry," Hoole says. "There's a real problem here."

Fowlke's bill gained unanimous support in a Senate committee this morning, and now heads to the full Senate for consideration.

But resty, these have been questions that Jesus would have answered - what is the way of salvation? And even the Gentile mother was praised by Jesus for her faith. So are you saying that Jesus would deny telling others about something as important as salvation?
There were those Jesus also said I do not know you!

So do I understand that you want gentiles to not come to know the mormon way of salvation? Are you placing yourself equal to Christ?

Joseph Smith did rewrite the Bible to suit his “visions” and wrote more “bibles” to suit his revised “origional visions”

I'm still waiting for his bom-reformed egyptian hieroglyphics interlinear bom edition to come out.

That warning was for the Book of Revelation

But resty - smittie did fall within the prohibition of Revelation when he modified it as apart of the (proto-canonized) JST (aka IV). As such, he is properly condemned by God.

Deuteronomy 4 2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.

Context resty, context as the above relates to the Mosaic covenant.

Show me Sanctions in the OT for Abraham and Jacob and other in the various new dispensations the need to be replenished or populated the earth again under the Lord’s priesthood.

This shows that these ordinance have been removed from the scriptures because we know that Lord continue to work with his servants and did bless their posterity, we also know in Genesis that it was a commandment to replenished the earth.

The fact that the word “replenish” was used shows there was a population before!

Gen. 1: 28
28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Gen. 9: 1
1 And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.

D&C 132: 63
63 But if one or either of the ten virgins, after she is espoused, shall be with another man, she has committed adultery, and shall be destroyed; for they are given unto him to multiply and replenish the earth, according to my commandment, and to fulfil the promise which was given by my Father before the foundation of the world, and for their exaltation in the eternal worlds, that they may bear the souls of men; for herein is the work of my Father continued, that he may be glorified.

Moses 2: 28
28 And I, God, blessed them, and said unto them: Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Moses 5: 2
2 And Adam knew his wife, and she bare unto him sons and daughters, and they began to multiply and to replenish the earth.

Abr. 4: 28
28 And the Gods said: We will bless them. And the Gods said: We will cause them to be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it, and to have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

“This Jeff must have a great influence over his flock to have fathers cast out their sons.”

Apparently so. I’m LDS, and I’d have a hard time obeying such a command from God Himself. I wonder that this guy didn’t catch a bullet or six, long ago. Among other things, when I joined the church, I was not asked to give up my intellect, but to use it to find out the truth.

D&C 132: 63

_____________________________________________

So what happened to the 20+ women that Joseph Smith stole from their 1st husbands...????????????

And if the women committed adultery, then Joseph Smith committed adultery also...

And he was already “espoused, (was)with (several) (other) (women) (he)committed adultery, and (was he)destroyed “???

And if not, then why not...

The mormons in these threads keep hounding me to read the bom and other books by “LDS authors”

So now I have...

Question time...

pony up with the answers...
