Childish behavior |

They're called the "Lost Boys," the teenagers kicked out of their homes and communities by leaders of the polygamist Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to ensure there's an ample supply of single, young women who will one day become plural wives. Representative Lorie Fowlke (R-Orem), is running a bill to make this abandonment a felony.
"Estimates are that we've had more than 1,000 children - primarily in southern Utah - thrown out of their homes," Fowlke says. "What we were trying to do with this bill is criminalize this behavior and send a message to this community that they can't just throw away their children."
H.B. 23 adds child abandonment to the definition of child abuse, and makes it a felony crime. It also adds an enhancement if a parent or organization benefits from the child's abandonment to further an illegal enterprise, such as polygamy. This is the case with the FLDS church, says Roger Hoole, a lawyer who represents some of the displaced young men and sits on the board for the Utah Association for Justice. He says the church benefits from kicking out young men who would compete for plural wives. This, he says, has devastating consequences.
"There's a huge impact that's coming, like a tsunami, that's going to hit the state of Utah, when these boys get a little older and realize what has happened to them and get angry," Hoole says. "There's a real problem here."
Fowlke's bill gained unanimous support in a Senate committee this morning, and now heads to the full Senate for consideration.
How do you come up with such nonesense
Those who sincerely read the scripures with a contrite heart get more out of them for it opens up other verses in the Bible for your understanding.
There is nothing sweeter than to be witness to by the Power of the Holy Spirit.
Would you like for me to post a few of your prophet’s changes to the Book of Revelations? He actually made a few mistakes even.
>>>That warning was for the Book of Revelation<<<
Many theologians have argued that point for many hundreds of years.
I don’t wish to enter into a discussion about something that those who have much more background and schooling (than I), cannot agree.
But, I do appreciate your points.
What in the world might you even be talking about...if you are saying that I am a Mormon, if you are sayiang that I follow the teachings of Joseph Smith, or that I follow other Mormon leaders or Zakeet. you would then be a liar....a spreader of falsehood...You may beg for my pardon, and I will think about forgiving you, as you are obviously becoming unwound, or something, lol....I have never been a Mormon, I am not now studying to be a Mormon, and I dont foresee ever becoming a Mormon...
But you, for whatever reason, have seen fit to intimate that I follow the teachings of Joseph Smith, other Mormon leaders and Zakeet...there is enough bad that one can say about me or anyone else, so spreading lies and falsehoods is stupid, and unChristian...
Your post stated:
I would never rely on you for any information on this matter. And I said for you to then Rely on Joseph Smith and other Mormon leaders, or perhaps Zakeet. The INFORMATION ON THIS MATTER was posted for you. Or did you not see the information?
Nice attempt at misrepresenting what I said and calling ME the liar, but, it falls flat.
I understand what you are saying....however, when one realizes that all Christian churches, have their own experts in all the different languages, have their own experts to read and translate original scriptures in Hebrew and Greek, and yet they come to different conclusions about what the Bible is really saying, than I have to come to the conclusion, that ALL churches have got some things wrong and some things right, and I am not expert enough to know which is which...
I furthermore, I dont know that there is anyone on earth today, who is expert enough to know which is which....which has actually been my basic point all along...
But some people are so stuck in their own personal interpretations of what the Bible is saying, that they will never consider a contrary view, even tho that view, may actually be correct....
I am just trying, as many others are, to make my way, and consider all views, read the Bible, pray for help and guidance when reading the Bible, and then trying to understand as best as I can...
Some folks are absolutely certain that they understand completely and correctly everything that the Bible is saying...I am not among those folks...I have many questions, often receive many answers, from many sources, and from there, I just have to make my way...
Cutting and pasting and adding onto Scripture, making it into something entirely other than what it originally stated, however, is NOT the story of "every church." At the moment, I can only think of two religions which have done that: Mormonism and Jehovah's Witness.
I had breast cancer 10 years ago and the chemo and radiation played havoc with the whole body.
I am now just getting to the point of jointing the human race again.
I had a back molar that took a toll from the chemo, I had it removed yesterday and when I left the denist I felt like skipping down the street it was a blessing that thing was too crowded back there.:)
Just so you all know I did my prayer and did not feel a thing it was over thought he still pulling and he said it was out already! Wow that was great!

Hope your dad is still with you and I am glad he is doing good with his diabetes.
Things have changed so much in how one counts their food now.
[Note the changed sequence of verses in the JST ... and Smith's verse seven offering is seriously questionable.]
REVELATION 12: 1-17
The woman the Church, the child [the kingdom of God], the rod of iron [the word of God], the dragon [Satan], and Michael are explained. The war in heaven is continued on the earth. (compare Revelation 12: 1-17; Doctrine and Covenants 77)
1 And there appeared a great sign in heaven, in the likeness of things on the earth; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars.
2 And the woman being with child, cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.
3 And she brought for a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron; and her child was caught up unto God and his throne.
4 And there appeared another sign in heaven; and behold, a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman which was delivered, ready to devour her child after it was born.
5 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she had a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore years.
6 And there was war in heaven; Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought against Michael;
7 And the dragon prevailed not against Michael, neither the child, nor the woman which was the church of God, who had been delivered of her pains, and brought forth the kingdom of our God and his Christ.
8 Neither was there place found in heaven for the great dragon, who was cast out; that old serpent called the devil, and also called Satan, which deceiveth the whole world; he was cast out into earth; and his angels were cast out with him.
9 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ;
10 For the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
11 For they have overcome him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; for they loved not their own lives, but kept the testimony even unto death. Therefore, rejoice O heavens, and ye that dwell in them.
12 And after these things I heard another voice saying, Woe to the inhabiters of the earth, yea, and they who dwell upon the islands of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
13 For when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.
14 Therefore, to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might flee into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
15 And the serpent casteth out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.
16 And the earth helpeth the woman, and the earth openeth her mouth, and swalloweth up the flood which the dragon casteth out of his mouth.
17 Therefore, the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

I think it is clear that Joseph Smith was, at best, deluded and more likely, not honest.
But many churches have been led astray by deluded and/or dishonest leaders only to have the good people of the church continue to work to serve God and man. The various Mormons I’ve known have all been good people who loved their neighbor, worshiped God and asked forgiveness in the name of Jesus when they did wrong.
Consider all the Christians of past times who could not read the scriptures at all and perhaps had a dishonest priest - I am sure that those who were sincere in their faith and forgiveness for their wrongs were forgiven by God.
Nothing I said fell flat...I am becoming unwound?...It does not surprise me one bit, that this is what you have to say...rather, it was expected...

This issue of Bible translation has been hashed and rehashed many times with LDS who try to claim the Bible is not accurately translated and significant things have been left out by men. But the LDS Smithina version of the King James Bible deos not reflect either truthful 'translation' or text derived material. In fact, Smith made thousands of changes and additions to the King James Bible, none of which would support his specious claims of things left out that he 'restored' or mistranslated by earlier actual scholars.
No, unfortunately he died from his cancer...but I was luckily able to care for him at his home, until the day he died...and that was a true blessing to be with him, and care for him at that time...my dear hubby took over all of my duties at home, cared for the house, our younger son, and still worked his full time job, while being both mom and dad, homemaker and wage earner...it was difficult, of course, but since my dad lived in a state other than my own, I needed a strong hubby to back me up which he willingly did...
So tho I lost Dad, way too soon, I was privileged to be able to care for him in his last months of life...for that, I am forever grateful...
Why not? What's so bad about Mormonism?
And that's exactly what this is not about. "Being good" does not save one from hell. Belief in Christ does. But THE CHRIST who can is the One Who is God the Creator. Changing Who He is, from Creator, without beginning and without end, to merely a creature being, alters everything about Him, and denies His very essence.
I think it is clear that Joseph Smith was, at best, deluded and more likely, not honest.
Exactly the point. Dishonest = less than a true prophet of God. The Scriptures show that one of the tests of a true prophets is that they do not lie; another is that 100% of their prophecies come true and are 100% accurate. On just both of those counts, therefore, Joseph Smith comes short of being a true prophet of God.
And it doesn’t surprise me one iota that you intentionally misrepresented my posts, what I stated therein, and then claim that I’m the one who’s a liar.
I dont believe I said that there was anything bad about being a Mormon...I would have had the very same reaction, if it was intimated that I was a Catholic, because I am not a Catholic, or if it was intimated that I was a Baptist, because I am not a Baptist...I dont recall saying that being a Mormon was bad, what I objected to was being called something that I was not...hope that explains it...
