The Nicene Creed was never preached by Christ.

Please provide the Bible reference proving the priesthood was removed from the earth to later be restored by Joseph Smith. Thank you.

We mean the changing of fundamental doctrines ultimately resulting in the loss of priesthood authority which Christ had bestowed on his apostles. The restoration includes the restoration of priesthood authority and ordinances.

What you assert has never been shown.

LOL. Where on earth do you get your stuff? Google “burned over district”

Is this a YES or a NO??

Do you have any data to disprove that?

Have you looked into the kooky mayor of Salt Lade City?

We don’t rip out a single page.

The Joe Smith Translation (aka "Inspired Version") removed the Song of Solomon and various other chapters and verses.

When Jesus said “It is finished,” he was referring to his earthly life and mission. Just because your pastors read a different meaning into this statement doesn’t mean I have to accept it to be a Christian. If everything was “finished” when he uttered that sentence, why did there need to be a resurrection? Excellent point!

More to the point is what GOD SAID: the unity of Being that is central to Christian theology, that Christ IS God (as, in part, reflected in my post #180 which is conveniently being ignored), is completely denied by Joseph Smith in the First Vision. And that makes Mormonism, by definition, NOT Christian.

I will support Romney next time...I admired his graceful and statesmanlike exit...wish we had seen more of that....

but his Mormon supporters were just like I figured....more loyal to their temple than to God or our nation.....what's up with Romney swearing allegiance to God instead of to his temple?....imagine that....

is it like I thought...that Mormons supported Romney ONLY because of his Mormonism?......not because of his intellect, his leadership, his character, his policies?

So you accept Fred Phelps as a spokesman for Christians?

Number 19...

How Mormon's deal with data presented to them by those they call ANTI's:

  1. How you interpret it is wrong...
  2. You are too ignorant to really understand it because you are not a member....
  3. You're not qualified to judge because you're no LONGER a member...
  4. You are just a bigot for bringing the whole ugly truth to light ...
  5. So’s yer Mama!
  6. Laugh it all off and post some silly image.
  7. Jump down the rabbit hole; Alice!
  8. Bait & Switch
  9. The OTHER 'half' of the truth is what we are avoiding.
10. "I Know It When I See It"
11. Hand waving...
12. YOU play defense for a while.
13. HEE Hee hee... let's get the Calvinists and the Armenians fighting!
14. GREAT FUN! Let's get the Catholics and the Protestants fighting!
15. Huh? Did you say something?
16. If I repeat this enough times some folks will be fooled into thinking it's true.
17. Playing dumb.
18. Refusing to answer because your ATTITUDE offends them.
19. (Let's see if they'll fall for the 'Defend a freak' ploy.)

Guess which one will put you to sleep faster.

I would probably doze off at about the second "And it came to pass." So that would be what? About 10 verses in the BOM? Wasn't it Mark Twain who said if you drop this phrase that Joseph Smith's Bible would be a pamphlet?

On a challenge from a Mormon friend, I read the BOM. I found it incredibly tedious and was thankful when it was finally over.

(Just an example, I don't expect anyone who knows anything about him to accept him as a spokesman. which makes me wonder, is he a Christian, I mean you guys are judging us ion tenets he agrees with you on...)

Romans Chapter 2

23. You who brag about the law, do you dishonor God by breaking the law?
24. As it is written: "God's name is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you."

I was with the Gideons for quite some time in the past.

Bless you!

My son-in-law is with them now.

(I'll add that all of your expenses are NOT paid for out of money that is donated to your organization for Bibles; you pay your own way. We have a Gideon speaker come once a year to speak to our congregation.)

Christ is God, as is God the Father. Nobody is ignoring that point. Nor has it been denied, by Joseph or any other Mormon. We believe that Christ is Yahweh, the God of the Old Testament. He created the world under the direction of God the Father. He is “one” with God the Father, meaning perfectly unified, as he explained in His intercessory prayer in John.

I Said: If you are not a Catholic, they say the same about you, do you call them names?

U Said: (Not sure what you mean here, DU?)

You responded to a post by me talkingabotuthe name calling that goes on on these threads, I was told Name calling showed my argument was weak, I responded that name calling happened on both sides. You jumped in and said (esentially) that it was becasue we said all other churhces are wrong, so I wondered if you also called Catholics name (we are all heritics together according to them.) If you that is your reason for calling us neame, do you callt hem names, if you don't call them names, why?

U Said: DU, I think what many LDS and non-LDS who read the broader context of the First Vision statement by Smith pass right over is how a 14 yo lad simply invested WAY to much in confused teen feelings...and that's why Lady Lawyer actually did us a favor by citing the broader context of Smith's First Vision statement...here's what she quoted:

You go ahead and find an excuse for him any way you want, the diffrence is, I have read the Book of Momron and prayed about it in accordance witht he Bible, and I have recieved an answer from God. God tells me the Book of Mormon is true, he also told me that Jesus Christ lived in Israel, and Died for my sins. This answer to my prayer specifically fulfills the requirements for a spirit being of God as recorded in First John 4:1-3
1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
If Joseph was just having teen hormones The Spirit of God would not be testifying of his work.

Nice try...

What?

colorcounty will explain the source of his belief in the "Trinity".

(It came from the noted Catholic Scholar Tertullian and the New Prophecy of Montanus.)

Interesting you should bring that up. In ancient languages there was no punctuation or paragraphs. In recent years, archeologists have begun to understand that phrases like “It came to pass” served that function.

Why, after this alleged visitation, three years later Smith sought to join one of these apostate churches?

That’s a good question. Why was that?”

What happened ???

Did he join ???

Get shown the door ???

Steal a wife ???

Now you KNOW we can't do this!

IT'S BEEN REMOVED!

How hard is THAT to understand?

--MormonDude(When would be a good time for a couple of our fine young men to come by your house and explain to you the RESTORED gospel?)
