There is quite a few things I would like to address so this is a reply to sevenbak's post as well as some others. I hate posting like that because formating sometimes makes it hard to follow.

It FR ever became a place where the spirit of the Lord was made manifest instead of the spirit of contention, I might find it a more worthwhile endeavor,

As greyfoxx39 stated in his reply "FR is not a religious site.". If you are looking for LDS religious discussion I invite you to browse www.ldsblogs.org. Be warned though the "Bloggernacle" as they call it is a good portion liberal but 90% of the conversations are LDS religious in nature and not political.

We also have LDS Caucus threads here, while not very popular are generally honored.

As far as the spirit being made manifest I can say that many times the spirit of the Lord has been made manifest here at FR. Not all the time in religious threads such as this one but even in news threads. Some of the goodness I have seen here at FR tells me that even if some of us don't believe in the same religion most of us do walk in the light of Christ.

As far as the spirit of contention I will agree that some posters whom will remain nameless have only one goal in these threads and that is to stir up contention. Others whom you and I may disagree with do have honest questions and honest points. They may have been misinformed or haven't been told correctly. The spirit of contention isn't the spirit of disagreement or the spirit of debate. The spirit of contention is those that even if you agree with them on a point they will still tear it down. Those guys are usually trolls and after a while you'll know their names.

As far as religious discussions go I will tell you that through many of these discussions my Testimony has actually be strengthened by things fellow LDS members have said and also strengthened by things that non-LDS and anti-LDS (seperate classifications) have said. Colorcountry and Colofornian have both done this at some point in time as well as some others.

The real problem I have is when people can't seperate Romney and Mormon. Take this thread for example. It is a thread on Mormonism. You can fully expect religious questions, debate, arguements etc. However some have to bring Romney in.

Another article might be about Romney and never even mention his religion yet some will try to turn it into a debate weather Mormons are Christians or not, even though it had nothing to do with the article.

The third kind is an article on Romney and religion. Of course this is going to bring out the zealots on both sides. And you, me, everyone makes the choice weather or not we step into the much.

Some days I'm just not in the mood to deal with any of them, others I'll jump in with both hands swinging.

Oh and BTW I don't support Romney in the primaries, but if he does get the nom then I will. Anyone but Rudy, McCain, or Paul.

and since FR has become not so free, where those who don’t support Fred 100 percent and post things against him are banned or suspended nearly at the drop of the hat, I must temporarily depart.

I don't know anything about this. We have Hunter, Romney, Tancredo, Thompson and a few other backers here. Now if you're backing McCain, Rudy, or Ron Paul yea you might have problems. Especially Ron Paul cause well that guys tin foil hat nuts.

Don't let the word 'Free' confuse you. FR is also a PRIVATE enterprise. Jim Rob could ban everyone that uses the letter 'X' if he wanted to. If it was 'Free' in the sence you alluded to then the moonbats and libs that occasionally infiltrate our ranks would run amoke instead of being contained.

In the end of it all no matter what your religious beliefs are, we here at FR are all conservative. Though I may not agree with Resolute Conservative's, Elsie's, or Colofornian's (and others) religious views I'm fairly positive when the time comes to push a button, punch a hole, or flip a lever their going to be doing it with conservative values in mind and not religious beliefs.

Well said, thanks for pining me to your comment.

Personally, I'll even take Hillary lite (Rudy) over Hillary.

I hereby pledge to vote for the best conservative on the general ballot regardless of support on FR. This will mean that anyone opposing Hillary will get my vote.

Libertarians, while I agree with you on some points, on others you are too "out there", and you have no prayer of winning. To top it off, this is too important an election to split conservatives off into small ineffective groups.

I hope when the electoral day of reckoning comes, that all FReepers will pull together on the lever for the best the GOP can put forward. (puns fully intended)

And in this spirit; you are my brother.
