I find it of interest that a man who, in his statement of beliefs, says that some man will be saved and others will not, because God has already made up his mind and we can do nothing to change it, BUT I MUST CHANGE MY WAYS.

“... man became spiritually dead, totally unwilling and indeed incapable of seeking after God. God, from eternity past, having foreordained all things, joined a certain people to Christ Jesus, so that He might redeem them from their sin and in so doing bring glory to Himself. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died in the place of this elect people...” from http://aomin.org/AOFAITH.html

Since, by James White”s own belief, I am already where God has placed me, I am already fulfilling God,s plan. I can do nothing to change, by his belief. How many of us are not among the “elect”?

I’m not denying that they are moral, kind, etc. But they are not Christians.

++++++++

Do you think James White and his group are Christians?

...the door is opened for us to undergo the same process and hence, someday, become a God as He is. Mormon belief.

...your eyes will be opened...you will be like God... Satan.

++++++++++++=

Thank-you for pointing out that satan cane only make you “LIKE GOD” and cannot do what God can do for his children.

Mormons sound like something like the heretics the Arians..and the blessed St Athanasius refuted them 1,300 years ago

As stated before the Lord Jesus Christ know who is of his fold!:)

Brigham Young, writing in Journal and Discourses Volume 7:282 titled Intelligence, wrote the following:

Joseph Smith holds the keys of this last dispensation, and is now engaged behind the vail in the great work of the last days.

I can tell our beloved brother Christians who have slain the Prophets and butchered and otherwise caused the death of thousands of Latter-day Saints, the priests who have thanked God in their prayers and thanksgiving from the pulpit that we have been plundered, driven, and slain, and the deacons under the pulpit, and their brethren and sisters in their closets, who have thanked God, thinking that the Latter-day Saints were wasted away, something that no doubt will mortify them-something that, to say the least, is a matter of deep regret to them-namely, that no man or woman in this dispensation will ever enter into the celestial kingdom of God without the consent of Joseph Smith.

From the day that the Priesthood was taken from the earth to the winding-up scene of all things, every man and woman must have the certificate of Joseph Smith, junior, as a passport to their entrance into the mansion where God and Christ are-I with you and you with me.
I cannot go there without his consent.

He holds the keys of that kingdom for the last dispensation-the keys to rule in the spirit-world; and he rules there triumphantly, for he gained full power and a glorious victory over the power of Satan while he was yet in the flesh, and was a martyr to his religion and to the name of Christ, which gives him a most perfect victory in the spirit-world.
He reigns there as supreme a being in his sphere, capacity, and calling, as God does in heaven.

Many will exclaim-
"Oh, that is very disagreeable!
"It is preposterous!
"We cannot bear the thought!"

But it is true.

If you grow up in the LDS church, you learn, in primary, Sunday school and seminary, many wonderful things that prophets did.
The miracles of Joseph Smith, The Book of Mormon Prophets, and the prophets and apostles in the Bible.

Your expectations build up. You can imagine a modern prophet having the same powers as previous ones. You expect to see miracles as a normal course of things.

When the people in the Book of Mormon found records they couldn't read they brought them to the Prophet and he translated them. When hearing about the Dead Sea Scrolls, you wonder why the Prophet didn't translate them for us.

You wonder why the church used scholars instead of inspiration. Wasn't that the problem with the Bible?

When hearing about Spencer W Kimball's operation for throat cancer,  you wonder about the gifts of healing and why we've never heard of our apostles healing people like the apostles in the New Testament.

You wonder about the gifts of discernment over the Hoffman scandal.

You wonder why any doctrine could be unclear in the bible after Joseph Smith retranslated it and why that disclaimer about the bible not being translated correctly was still in the Articles of Ffaith.

You expect the Prophet as a spokesman for God on earth, would say something that God would say to everyone - not just the church. Especially during real troubling times.

You expect the Prophet and the President of the United States to be talking regularly like they did in the Book of Mormon. Either clashing like Abinadi and Noah or collaborating like Moroni and Alma during the wars.

You never expect any Prophet to have lead people astray or to have to apologize or discount the things former Prophets did.

What kind of doubts do YOU have???

I'm not denying that they are moral, kind, etc. But they are not Christians.

Well, they believe in Christ: his birth, life, teachings, and resurection. How then, are they not Christians?

Sure, they believe that a tribe of Israelites came via boats to the US, had big battles with swords and chariots, and lost to the unrighteous who were then "cursed with dark skin".... and that all of this has no historical evidence. It may be all made up by Joseph Smith.

However, those stories and beliefs don't invalidate their belief in the eternal Christ. I believed in the tooth fairy as a kid, but I still believed in Jesus. Catholics asked to St Christopher pray for them, but he was downgraded by the Vatican due to lack of historical evidence. Did those who relied on a possibly non-existant St Christopher have their faith in Christ invalidated?

Bottom line is that despite questions, Mormons are Christians because they believe in Christ.

Using this same logic; how would you describe THESE guys??

 James 2:19
You believe that there is one God.   Good!   Even the demons believe that--and shudder.

You wonder why there hasn't been a "revelation" in oh, quite a few years...is it because of the internet and all that information out there available to anyone who cares to search for it?

You wonder why garments are now cut off at the knee and upper arm when they used to be to ankle and hand? If they are there for protection, do the arms and legs no longer need protection?

You wonder what is REALLY going on behind closed doors between Romney and the movers and shakers in SLC...and whether, since Mitt is spending so MUCH of his own money on his campaign, did Pres. Hinkley give him a "pass" on paying tithing for this and next year, just this ONE time?

You know, our church is probably one of the most conservative churches around. I find it strange that people spend so much time on here trying to run down a church that teaches hard work, independence and service to your fellow man (and yes military service). I thought this was a political forum.

A witch covent might decide to teach the same things. That is only a little strange but when they also start calling themselves a Christian Witch coven then I know they are deceivers. At that point it becomes pretty hard to believe their hard work, independence service and military teachings too.

Thank you for posting this article, and the link to your beliefs. Since God has already decided if I am one of the elect, I think I will stay right where I am, since there is nothing I can do to change weather or not I am saved as one of the elect.

What will be will be.
