Mitt's Mission
Newsweek ^ | Oct. 8, 2007 issue | Jonathan Darman and Lisa Miller

For Mitt Romney, it all started in a two-story, wood-framed house on a busy street in Pontiac, Mich. Painted beige, encircled by an asphalt lot that would hardly hold a dozen cars, the building manages to look both decrepit and picturesque, like a million other urban churches across the country. Today it houses the Unity Church of Practical Christianity, but until Romney was 10, it was the Mormon church he attended with his family—at least twice a day on Sunday, and one night a week for youth group.

Please leave us alone to worship Heavenly Father as our consciences dictate and we will do the same for you.

Then you need to let headquarters know that you, personally, do not want to be considered a Christian like the rest of us.

By the way, I am certain you are aware of St. Paul’s comments in the New Testament regarding baptisms for the dead.

Yes; we are.

He was asking a question - one that is STILL being asked:

1 Corinthians 15:29
Now if there is no resurrection, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why are people baptized for them?

"Oops I should have said “blessed by a 14 year old “teacher.” A 16 year old is a “Priest.”

A clear demonstration of how "connected" you are to "Mormonism." You don't even know the basics, your forty-year "involvement" notwithstanding.

You sound exactly like the dozens of sour-grapes ex-Mormons I have known who couldn't hack living the Gospel and now spend the rest of your life compensating and heaping further damnation on yourself by lying about things that you know to be true or have forgotten.

You contribute nothing but negatism and falsehoods to these FR threads, and you certainly have a strange way of "saving" the "lost sheep" to which you so sophomorically and boringly proclaim that you are out to warn.

The Church has grown and will continue to grow against all odds and there isn't a damned thing you can do about it. So eat your heart out, continue to cry in your beer, and rehearse how you will try to con the Savior when you stand before the Judgement Bar.

And Romney will be president. It must really suck to be you, and for that you have my pity and my prayers....

Articles of Faith - Number 11:
“We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.”

But these things were said BEFORE your creed of 11 items appeared...

http://scriptures.lds.org/en/js_h/1/19#19
17 It no sooner appeared than I found myself adelivered from the enemy which held me bound. When the light rested upon me I bsaw two cPersonages, whose brightness and dglory defy all description, estanding above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other—This is My fBeloved gSon. Hear Him!
18 My object in going to ainquire of the Lord was to know which of all the sects was right, that I might know which to join. No sooner, therefore, did I get possession of myself, so as to be able to speak, than I asked the Personages who stood above me in the light, which of all the sects was right (for at this time it had never entered into my heart that all were wrong)—and which I should join.
19 I was answered that I must join none of them, for they were all awrong; and the Personage who addressed me said that all their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those bprofessors were all ccorrupt; that: “they ddraw near to me with their lips, but their ehearts are far from me, they teach for doctrines the fcommandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the gpower thereof.”
20 He again forbade me to join with any of them; and many other things did he say unto me, which I cannot write at this time. When I came to myself again, I found myself alying on my back, looking up into heaven. When the light had departed, I had no strength; but soon recovering in some degree, I went home. And as I leaned up to the fireplace, bmother inquired what the matter was. I replied, “Never mind, all is well—I am well enough off.” I then said to my mother, “I have learned for myself that Presbyterianism is not true.”

Please note that I said “church” not mosque.

Please note that I said PRAY, not where to do it.

Not something to call as justification if you believe as Jesus said its a narrow path that few will find..

1 Timothy 1:3-4

3. As I urged you when I went into Macedonia, stay there in Ephesus so that you may command certain men not to teach false doctrines any longer

4. nor to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies. These promote controversies rather than God's work--which is by faith.

No, no matter how much you wish it, Romney will not be President.

I think CC wouldn’t want your prayers. You sound vile and bitter. I doubt they would be very Christ-like.

Well we can see how "rational" you are. Perhaps that is how you got sucked in to the cult? Ya think?

“When asked by NEWSWEEK if he has done baptisms for the dead—in which Mormons find the names of dead people of all faiths and baptize them, as an LDS spokesperson says, to “open the door” to the highest heaven—he looked slightly startled and answered, “I have in my life, but I haven’t recently.” The awareness of how odd this will sound to many Americans is what makes Romney hesitant to elaborate on the Mormon question.”

Wait till they get to the question “How many Celestial Wives and How many Spirit Children do you plan to have?”.

OR, these ex-Mormons may have figured out how Joseph Smith betrayed them all and lead them down a rabbit’s hole of weirdness. I know quite a lot of them too.

A really dumb answer, but here's an undeserved answer for you: The membership of the Church makes up far less than 1% of the world's population and about 2% of the U.S.

Is that narrow enough for you?

Wow, just sitting here crying in my Budweiser. I really shouldn't be drinking beer this early, it's just that I'm feeling so bad knowing that Romney will be the president. I guess the profit had a vision?

So... prove that they're right.

Who would you believe, a rag-tag bunch of whiners or a dynamic and growing Church that does many good works for people of all denominations and has among its membership millions of traditional-value families, local, national, and world leaders in government, industry, and education?

I'm afraid I already know the answer to that question?

Now, tell me, when did the Church pee in your corn flakes and why do you waste everyone's time slinging arrows when radical Islamists prove a clear and present danger?

A better question is, why don't you get in their faces if you are such a champion of truth. Is it because, unlike the much-despised "Mormons," they'd cut your throat and feed you to the dogs?

As is typical of Mormonism a Bible passage is taken out of the context in which it was offered by Paul, then that out of context passage is used to support one of the fundamental heresies at the heart of Mormonism! Paul's comment was made in relation to the issue of resurrection of dead believers and Paul cited the practice by a local pagan group of being baptised for their dead, asking (parphrasing)'why would they do this baptism for the dead if they didn't believe the dead will be resurrected?'
