Manchester, New Hampshire - Was it a sign from above?
Lightning zapped remarks by Republican presidential contender and former New York mayor Rudolph Giuliani during a debate Tuesday night, just as he began defending his pro-choice stand on abortion rights against criticism by a Roman Catholic bishop.
'I guess I'm here by myself,' Giuliani quipped after a loud buzz momentarily interrupted the sound system. He turned around, then looked skyward as the audience broke out laughing.
'For someone who went to parochial schools all his life, this is a very frightening thing that's happening right now,' he said.
Debate host Wolf Blitzer of Cable News Network (CNN) reassured Giuliani, an Italian-American, that the disturbance was caused by lightning from a thunderstorm near St Anselm's College, a Catholic university that hosted the debate in the northeastern state of New Hampshire.
Giuliani, on stage with nine other hopefuls for the centre-right nomination, went on to defend his position that abortion should be a woman's choice - a controversial stand in his mostly conservative party.
'My view on abortion is that it's wrong,' he said, 'but that ultimately government should not be enforcing that decision on a woman.'
What does it take to get a message through to him?

There was a similar message given in Bible, the Book of Daniel, Chapter 5:
This is the writing that was inscribed: MENE, TEKEL, and PERES. These words mean:
26
4 MENE, God has numbered your kingdom and put an end to it;
27
TEKEL, you have been weighed on the scales and found wanting;
28
PERES, your kingdom has been divided and given to the Medes and Persians.”

I was torn between awe and laughter.
Nice.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Thank you for posting that. You're the best :-)
I just heard that on our Milwaukee radio station with Charlie Sykes.
Rudy... Someone's trying to get your attention.
**’I guess I’m here by myself,’ Giuliani quipped after a loud buzz momentarily interrupted the sound system. He turned around, then looked skyward as the audience broke out laughing. **
I didn’t watch this since I was on a work crew at church. Must have been hilarious.
**Maybe because it was at a Catholic College, God thought He might remind Guiliani what being a Catholic means...**
LOL!
Could you translate, please?

Guiliani did announce that he was not going to participate in the Iowa Straw Poll today...
If he did a 180 on abortion right now, and said it was because it was because of the BOLT OF LIGHTNING, his race might gain some momentum...
I don't think God wants Obama or Hillary to be Prez, unless it is to punish us.
Guiliani is a liberal, but he did do a good job with 911 and he did clean up the streets of New York and made them safe. It is much safer in NYC than Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Atlanta, Washington(DC), etc. It is Guiliani that is responsible for that...
If the bolt of lightning had hit him square on the head probably he would still be giggling and babbling liberal pro-abortion propaganda like an idiot. He's clueless on moral issues.
You are correct! I have a faulty memory fro names sometimes.
We're still one year away but, seriously, where is any candidate that does not promote abortion and/or gay marriage?
I have voted in every election since I turned 21 (that was the minimum voting age back then). 2008 is shaping up as the one year I do a write in vote.
He laughed.
He needs to get a clue. Next time it might not be the mic.
a well known heretic, Cerinthus I believe...
...a lightning bolt would be true justice for this Gnostic charlatan and those who believe he composed the Gospel of John and the Apocalypse...
It has become quite fashionable to be a heretic these days. The new religion is like the old Roman one, it tolerates everything even baby sacrifice.
