"Such notions offend the very nature of the American experiment and do a great disservice to the centuries of good work the church has done."

The truth hurts doesn't it Rep. DeLauro?

The "American experiment" may end in a spectacular explosion unless the killing stops. Two hundred years is a mere blink of an eye in historical terms and America may be remembered as a light which shone brightly but very briefly, like a meteor that streaks across the night sky.

As Mother Teresa once said: "A country which kills its young has no future."

These Cafeteria Catholics should be booted out the door. Give them directions to their local Episcopalean or Unitarian Churches. They’d be happier there.

""The truth is," Father Euteneuer said, "nothing threatens the American experiment more than the legal but unjust killing of human beings by abortion which stands in stark contrast to the very first right enumerated by our Declaration of Independence: The Right to Life. The humanity of the unborn child is no longer even debated. It is a scientific fact. Abortion is murder, and murder is against the law. Like Dred Scott before it, which violated certain citizens' Right to Liberty, Roe v. Wade is bad, dishonest law and will eventually fall."

Worth repeating and why even nonbelievers should oppose abortion on demand.

A voice of courage in the wilderness. Sounds like his clash with Hannity was just the warm-up act.

What’s that about “speaking truth to power”? I do believe the good Father just gave the ultimate lesson.

Is this the father for whom Hannity brought out the tired and misused “judge not”?

Outstanding rebuke by Father Euteneuer. It’s the truth, if these people refuse to follow the tenets of the Church, then they should leave. It’s utter arrogance that they would publicly denounce the Pope, as if he is supposed to bend to their will.

Christ be with me, Christ within me,
Christ behind me, Christ before me,
Christ beside me, Christ to win me,
Christ to comfort and restore me.
Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ in quiet, Christ in danger,
Christ in hearts of all that love me,
Christ in mouth of friend and stranger.

press release from DeLauro's office -snip- "Such notions offend the very nature of the American experiment and do a great disservice to the centuries of good work the church has done."

Experiment? That seems oddly worded to me. We are just peons in a petry dish to them? But, silly me, to many socialist lefties, we are just that.

As usual, sadly, we laypeople are out here asking, where are our bishops?!? Mine is probably too busy right now to come out in defense of the Holy Father, the Annual Archdiocesan Golf Tournament is coming up.
