**A successful marriage isn’t finding the right person; it is being the right person.**
It’s working at it (the marriage) every day of your married life, isn’t it?
“Its working at it (the marriage) every day of your married life, isnt it?”
In many ways this is +John Chrysostomos’ point in his sermon. The homily is full of practical advice. I often quote this snip to new husbands if I happen to be giving a toast at a wedding:
“And again, never call her simply by her name, but with terms of endearment, with honor, with much love. Honor her, and she will not need honor from others; she will not want the glory that comes from others, if she enjoys that which comes from thee. Prefer her before all, on every account, both for her beauty and her discernment, and praise her.”
It has worked for me all these many years.
We heard Father Corapi on the radio yesterday saying just that. I like to summarize, "It's not just an adventure - it's a job!"
