He hews the line from the Vatican without any question whatsoever. He's not a very good people person.

Imagine that. A Catholic bishop who's obedient to the Pope.

Amazing.

Bump! Bishop Nienstedt sounds great! A lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth from retired dissident priests, National Cino Reporter, and the other usual suspects. God bless him and thank you Pope Benedict.

Is Archbishop Flynn ill? Isn't co-adjutor generally reserved for when the current bishop is sick?

I remember there was a co-adjutor appointed in Dallas and it was considered a slap in the face for the current bishop. Is that the case here?

“He hews the line from the Vatican without any question whatsoever” — my post exactly! How’d this guy ever make it into the US Bishops??? WOW. Go God.

Kenneth Irrgang, a retired priest who clashed with Nienstedt when he was bishop in New Ulm, predicted that Nienstedt will meet resistance among the 654 active priests in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis.

"I expect disaster there. I don't think those priests are going to accept him," said Irrgang, who now lives in St. Cloud.

So, all 654 are 'do your own thing' kind of guys? I doubt it.

Hey, where's the 'fairness' the liberal press is so fond of mentioning? There's no corresponding comments from a retired priest who supports the bishop.
