Then, on Aug. 17, 2002, at the new Divine Mercy Shrine in Lagiewniki, Poland, the 263rd successor to St. Peter solemnly entrusted the world to the Divine Mercy, adding: “I do so with the burning desire that the message of God’s merciful love, proclaimed here through St. Faustina, may be made known to all the peoples of the earth and fill their hearts with hope.”

Prophecy

Write this: before I come as the just Judge, I am coming first as the King of Mercy. Before the day of justice arrives, there will be given to people a sign in the heavens of this sort: All light in the heavens will be extinguished, and there will be great darkness over the whole earth. Then the sign of the cross will be seen in the sky, and from the openings where the hands and the feet of the Saviour were nailed will come forth great lights which will light up the earth for a period of time. This will take place shortly before the last day. (83) 

 As I was praying for Poland, I heard the words: I bear a special love for Poland, and if she will be obedient to My will, I will exalt her in might and holiness. From her will come the spark that will prepare the world for My final coming. (1732)

Our Parish does the Divine Mercy Novena. On Friday about 60 people showed up, it was at 2:00 and Mass was at 3:00. The Deacon who led it, did the whole thing in about seven minutes. Haven’t been back. I have the intentions and I have the prayers on my iPod. IMO, it shouldn't be an exercise in speed reading.

Divine Mercy Sunday falls on Benedict’s birthday this year, April 15.

We’ll be doing some sort of procession at each of the weekend Masses. I’ll be interested to see how that works out.
