Our Parish does the Divine Mercy Novena. On Friday about 60 people showed up, it was at 2:00 and Mass was at 3:00. The Deacon who led it, did the whole thing in about seven minutes. Haven’t been back. I have the intentions and I have the prayers on my iPod. IMO, it shouldn't be an exercise in speed reading.

Our parish, too, is doing it, but attendance has fluctuated from over 60 to only four.

But we will finish the Novena and celelbrate with our Hispanic Community at a Fiesta on Divine Mercy Sunday. They have been doing the Novena for many years.

I have the CD from the Mary Foundation and I play it in my car. The chaplet take approx 6 minutes, 44 seconds. It really moves at a good clip, but that does not include the daily prayers for the novena.

According to EWTN, the chaplet itself is not necessary for the novena:

But yeah - I agree with the speed.
