Although Massachusetts is a very liberal state, it's mostly Catholic and has one of the lower divorce rates in the nation.

I believe Michael Moore referred to the Bible Belt as Jesusland.
I am happily inside the fringe of this compliment, though I'm certain that it wasn'y meant that way.

**Red State: Baptist.
Blue State: Catholic.**
I don't think such a blanket statement such as this can be made.
Blue states have a concentration in large cities -- usually people with no religion.

This map is not real. ALL people are religious.
I'd like to see a map of the various pagan religions:
Environmental Extremists
Tree Huggers
Earth Worship
Self Idolatry
Idol Worship (American or otherwise)
etc.

I was just lookin' at the map.
Besides that, cities have large concentrations of Hispanics, and they're Catholic as Catholic can be.

That wouldn't be a bad idea. There was one where it showed 'other' as gray, I believe.

I'd love to see this recoded in terms of members who attend weekly AND actually beleive the COMPLETE doctrine of their church. The first would be difficult enough (our church, at least, keeps weekly records of attendance -- I've had to fill out the book upon occasion) but... BELIEVE? Can we add UNDERSTAND to that????

Alaska is on our short list for retirement. :) That sounds great. But, from what I've heard, you might want to spend a little time there before moving there. The darkness of winter tends to drive out older people.

Great post! This explains one of the REAL reasons we had a civil war and probably eventually will again.

You missed the middle of Maryland. The colony was founded by Catholics.
