"...a story of how the majority of Episcopal churches stand in affirmation of gays and lesbians..."
...while leaving the Christian faith behind.
Most churches certainly wouldn't turn gays and lesbians away from participating in worship, but they ought not to be blessing gay unions where they uh are not living like brother and brother, nor should they be receiving communion if they are unrepentent. I mean that used to be Universal Christianity 101.
"Blessed are you when men revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so men persecuted the prophets who were before you." Matthew 5:11.
I doubt that this type of persecution will be much remembered at this service.
I must say, however, that I wish the orthodox Anglicans could seem happier about the fact that the powers of the world are persecuting them. It's in the Bible!
Typical liberals... "Our opponents are only extremists..." "It's just a rebellious few..."
Some outright deceptions:
1. The fact so few have left shows most are comfortable.
Of course, we all know that so few have left because TEC will try to steal literally every material possession of anyone who leaves, including graves, relics, sacred objects, etc. And many other choose to stay and fight from within.
2. There are only a few dissenters.
Seven dioceses and dozens of churches, including many of the most reknowned and largest, have left. Fourteen more dioceses are functionally gone. Not counting 6% who have left the Anglican tradition. That's about 20% who have left everything behind to quit.
3. The dissenters had to go to Africa to find likeminded refuges.
TEC, Inc.'s power structure drove them to African bishops... Certainly 21 American bishops would have been glad to give shelter.
So, the official name of the church is now the Church of Laodicea Warm Bucket of Spit Episcopal Church.
It's the second largest parish in Northern California at it only has 250 members? Seriously?
Will they still be reporting on the ECUSA's ponderous navel-gazing when the entire denomination numbers under 500?
The Culture War is just something made up by Bill O'Reilly anyway.
I doubt he realizes how blind he is to the real truth of that statement.
In TEC's joined-at-the-hip denomination, the ELCA, their sexuality 'study' responses showed more than half of respondents were against blessing and ordaining gays. The result? They're re-doing the 'study', this time targeting seminary populations.
