Jesus Baptizes With The Holy Spirit & Fire
By Ron McGatlin
"You have never yet seen the fullness of outpouring of My fire. You have seen outpourings of My Spirit and My love"
I tremble and tears fill my eyes as I hear these words. Anticipation and deep emotional excitement swell within my heart. Suddenly desire goes far beyond hunger. My spirit, soul, and body scream with intense yearning. I am again touched by the Fire of God. I am overcome in the glory of His holiness.
Eye hath not yet seen what God has prepared for those who love Him.
But by His Spirit, He is today speaking of a pouring out of HOLY FIRE as never before seen on earth. At Pentecost a tiny group of people were baptized in SPIRIT and FIRE and the world was impacted forever. The Pentecost experience was a beginning, a seed, not the fullness of the HOLY FIRE of God to be poured out upon millions.
Christ returned in the Spirit to be spread across the world in the lives of those who walk in the Spirit. Christ Jesus is alive today in the lives of those who are in Him and in whom He dwells by the HOLY Spirit of God. Christ Jesus is the source of the Spirit and Fire baptism coming upon the world. We have grasped the experience of the Spirit and we will come to identify with and be fully baptized in the FIRE OF HOLINESS.
As you read what is being said here, don't allow your religious mind to take you back to hearing any weak segmented and departmentalized teachings that you may have had in the past regarding baptism and Holy Spirit. Only those who are losing their religious minds will hear the reality of what God is doing in our day. God is doing a far greater thing than the wonderful revivals and the renewals of recent decades. He is about an even greater work than the fire of revival of the past centuries.
The works prophesied by John the Baptist are now before us and not far ahead.
Luke 3:16-17: John answered, saying to all, "I indeed baptize you with water; but One mightier than I is coming, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor, and gather the wheat into His barn; but the chaff He will burn with unquenchable fire."
This is not just about your personal experience or your personal need. John was speaking to a group standing before Him and prophetically to the world to come.
John's message was a baptism of repentance.
Luke 3:3-9: And he went into all the region around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins, as it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, saying: "The voice of one crying in the wilderness: 'Prepare the way of the LORD; Make His paths straight.
Every valley shall be filled And every mountain and hill brought low; The crooked places shall be made straight And the rough ways smooth; And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.'"
Then he said to the multitudes that came out to be baptized by him, "Brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance, and do not begin to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father.' For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones. And even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire."
THE OUTPOURING OF HOLY FIRE
The major revivals of the past have all at some point came to an end because the fire that brought the work was lifted. Much speculation has been offered as to why the fire lifted and probably there are several facets of truth involved. However, it is becoming apparent that these revival, renewals, and outpourings were steps in a process toward the fullness of the kingdom revival filling the earth with the glory of God.
Man eventually became the focus of past revivals. This led to the humanization of the work of God. Indeed there is need for man to be transformed, but the need of man is a secondary thing and has never been the primary focus of God in the outpouring of the HOLY Spirit and fire in revival. The salvation of man is a means to the glory of God and the rule of God on earth as it is in heaven. God is not a means for the goal of the happiness of man.
Some of the older past revivals carried a major message theme of be saved so you can go to heaven and not SUFFER in hell. The person's motivation for repenting was sometimes purely man-centered from a desire to not suffer and to be happy. There was nothing about God in this motivation, and it was all about man's desire to not suffer.
This humanistic gospel has evolved through time into things like give to receive, or give your life so others won't suffer, come to God so you can be happy and prosperous, and God wants to make you rich. All of these things may happen when people truly come to God, but they are not the primary purpose of God and the reason for the cross and redemption of man.
And it gets worse. Eventually this mis-focused humanistic gospel can mutate into the purely human focused false gospel of universal reconciliation and other forms of new age, feel-good perversions. Eventually a spirit of pleasure rules and every sordid evil immoral pleasure can become acceptable in the "church." Shallow repentance without change, form without fire, and "church" without holiness can become the norm.
This kind of widespread belief in the "church" does little or nothing to restrain evil and even spawns ungodly and immoral culture into the world. The worst part of all this is that revival is squelched and prevented from coming in and through the "church." Even though there may be cries coming forth for revival, a wide-spread revival of holiness and the holy fire of God is restrained from coming and remaining under the canopy of this man-centered church tied to worldly culture.
As best I remember the story, a godly man from China was once asked about his trip to America. What impressed you most about the church in America? To which he replied, I am amazed at what they have been able to accomplish without God.
The outpouring of the Holy Spirit and fire of holiness from God must come outside the man-focused church to a God-focused people.
Revival can come to those who seek to serve God just because He is worthy to be served. He is God Almighty, Who created all that exist. He is glorious. He is holy, holy, holy and above all that exist. He is the God Who gave His only begotten Son to redeem all that was lost. He is the God Who is love, Who is all powerful, Who is jealous, Who is the King of kings and Lord of lords. Lay down your life to serve Him because He is worthy whether you receive anything or not, whether you are healed or not or have riches or not. Serve Him because of Who He is and seek to glorify Him in all the earth. We are made for God, He is not made for us. He is worthy of the sacrifice of our lives as living sacrifices unto Him.
The prayer of a few righteous can allow God to send His fire in a spot.
It has been clearly evidenced through past revivals that the prayer of a few HOLY people who are led of the Spirit can cause the fire of God to come down in a spot on earth. Holy people are those who continuously walk in the Spirit. Holiness comes from being saturated (baptized) in the HOLY Spirit and fire. Jesus is the baptizer and lives in those who have given their lives to Him.
The prayers of an army of God's pure hearted people baptized in the Holy Spirit and fire and planted in many spots across a nation can allow God's fire to come down and draw many to Jesus, baptizing them in the Holy Spirit and Fire. This can spread into that nation as the fire of God redeems what is redeemable and removes what is unredeemable. God will have a holy people and holy nations.
Holy fire comes to the people of God who yet have impurities as chastening and comes as destruction to the wicked who will not turn to God and seek His kingdom and His righteousness above all else.
The coming kingdom revival will be different from past outpourings, because it will be all about God and His glory and His kingdom and not about me or you.
God alone is worthy.
Rev 4:11 "You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created."
Rev 5:9-13: And they sang a new song, saying: "You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your blood Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, And have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth."
Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice: "Worthy is the Lamb who was slain To receive power and riches and wisdom, And strength and honor and glory and blessing!"
And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: "Blessing and honor and glory and power Be to Him who sits on the throne, And to the Lamb, forever and ever!"
Without Christ we are not worthy of the love of God. We are not worthy of the costly salvation He has provided. In our sinful fallen state apart from Christ, we are worthy of eternal separation from God Who is holy and worthy of all praise and honor. As we are in Christ and He in us by the Holy Spirit we are worthy to carry the fire of God into the world.
Just because the cross happened and just because the resurrection took place does not mean that we are redeemed and carriers of the fire. There is only two ways to live in life on this earth. One is to walk by the flesh and fulfill the lust of the flesh. The other is to walk in the Spirit and not fulfill the lust of the flesh but fulfill the divine will and purpose of God in the world. Those without Christ have only one choice and that is to walk in the flesh. Those in Christ have two choices. If we are not walking in the Spirit we are not in the Spirit and will fulfill the lusts of the flesh.
The holy fire that brings revival will only come in a people seeking God with their whole hearts and who walk in the Spirit. Many, if not most, "church" people have disqualified themselves from revival fire. They have simply not become living sacrifices to God and have been conformed to this world. Ignoring all God is and all God has done, they continue in their comfortable way of conformity to the world. As far as the coming revival fire of holiness this kind of life is as chaff that will be burned with unquenchable fire.
He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor, and gather the wheat into His barn; but the chaff He will burn with unquenchable fire."
Rom 12:1-2: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
1 Cor 6:9-11: Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.
Gal 6:7-8: Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.
"You have never yet seen the fullness of outpouring of My fire."
He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
It is at hand.

PRAY FOR REVIVAL IN BOLIVIA:

Bolivia Dream
1-9-07
I was in a large hotel preparing for a Christian outreach.
I walked through the Lobby and a mother/daughter I knew stopped me. (The mother's name was Violet ... the daughter's name was Joelle.)
I was surprised to see them, as the last I heard they were living in Bolivia.
So I greeted them, and asked them how they liked living in Bolivia?
The mother smiled big and told me to "smell" her daughter -- that "this scent" upon her daughter is the "scent of Bolivia".
I took the daughter close to me, bringing her head right under my nose as I would a baby ... so that I could breath in the daughter's scent.
It was the most beautiful "scent" I had ever smelled.
End of dream.
Interpretation:
The daughter's name in the dream was "Joelle".
Joelle is the female derivative of Joel...
Joel means: YAHWEH is God!
(this will become the aroma of Bolivia)
I believe there is a call to pray for Bolivia at this time.
That this South American nation may soon enter a dark(er) period ... one of upheaval -- but that the result will be a beautiful aroma to the Lord ... one that proclaims "YAHWEH is God!"
(Please pray for Bolivia!)

Sounds great to me.
Thx.
DEAR ONES, I'd like some discernment and prayer . . .
Last night, driving home from the college, as I turned onto the highway--last turn before our St......
the slightly strong yet sutle but very clear thought went through that
There would be some major devastation [in the USA, I think] within 72 hours.
I don't know for sure whether it was just a stray idle brain thought or from The Lord. Too subtle to be certain.
Was somewhat like many things like that which have been from The Lord but without any burning certainty.
1. Has anyone else had such a thing the last 24 hrs?
2. Anyone have any impression in their spirits on reading this?
I don't feel it was a warning for our area. More an alert that things will be changing.
Anyone with a similar close-in time sense?
Indeed. All that matters.
I assume, though, A-G, that you still pray DAILY for family members etc???
You might DOGPILE.COM him.
He was famous for his deliverance teachings and ministry.
I'm sure lot of excesses resulted but a lot more were delivered from demonic oppression & possession.
His main contention was that any believer repented up and walking with God in God's will with SCRIPTURE and the Blood of Jesus on their side could rout demonic forces. Mostly I agree.
But there are cases where prayer and fasting and group prayer and fasting are required.
It's not a willy nilly arena to enter casually. Nor is it one to cringe from for believers, imho.
The San Diego church I was in was heavily into such.
Be my guest but not on this caucus thread.
To live is Christ to die is to be present with The Lord.
I think there's room for discussing in such a caucus thread one's sense of discernment about such an article, prophecy.
There's not room for a combative, contrary, contentious rock throwing sort of thing.
In the case of the doc beginning this thread, I have no doubt such will come to pass. I don't know the timing.
You see, my particular cross-eyed bears are pride, ego, vanity and evil thoughts that seem to crop up through word or image associations as the day goes by. It could be something as simple as seeing a character portrayed in a movie who reminds me of someone I know (and thus I become judgmental) or things sinister that happen in life.
At any rate, once I sense the presence of pride, ego, vanity or an evil thought (which happens much more often than Id like) I immediately repent of it and reboot my prayer vigil in the hopes of destroying the wrong before it becomes part of what I say, my facial expressions or actions and actually hurts someone else.
The prayer vigil begins with the no strings attached plea: Thy name be hallowed, Thy will be done, Thy kingdom come.
Then comes the pause and meditation that this is truly all that is important, i.e. not family, not friends, not enemies, not nations, not powers, not me nothing.
Then I turn the prayer inward and pray first for help to keep my priorities straight, i.e. to love God absolutely and as a distant second, to love my neighbor unconditionally.
Thats when I lift up my neighbors in prayer for His blessing, peace and guidance. I pray generally and specifically for family, friends, associates and enemies. Then I lift up Christians and Jews, Jerusalem, the United States, Israel, our President and administration, and our service men and women. This lifting up is a continuance of specific prayers for specific people, e.g. healing or whatever.
Then, if I have forgotten any specific prayer request, I raise it at that time and try my very best to leave it there only to be revisited as a lifting up. Then I pause again and meditate on how insignificant I am in the face of all of this and reboot my background (always running) prayer.
That one is self-serving as I pray like a toddler, up papaw, pweese asking Him to keep me transparent in Him so that His Light can shine unobstructed by me. And so it continues until I stumble over one of my cross-eyed bears again and become an obstruction by having a prideful, egotistical, vain or evil thought and it all starts over.
Whew! Any hoot, I dont know whether this personal prayer principle is of any use to you, but I just had to reveal it. You know how that goes. LOL!
Open threads are like a town square where challenges and ridicule are allowed.
Closed threads are like a meeting occuring behind the closed door of a church or chapel. The assembly is not to be disturbed.
Devotionals and prayer threads are "closed." And so are "caucuses" such as this thread - as long as neither the article nor the reply posts challenge any other confessions.
Your posts are challenges on a closed thread and therefore shall be removed.
Amen!
"How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?" -- Hebrews 9:14"(there ariseth another priest,) Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life." -- Hebrews 7:16
Amen, A-G. You are not alone in that. "cross-eyed bears" - LOL! What a wonderful descriptive phrase; good-humored, good-natured, but very serious and very truthful. You are a treasure. { 8^)
Thanks.
Not sure what's been deleted.
But, in my experience and from my perspective, a closed caucus is just the sort of place for us beginners in hearing such things from The Lord to check our 'feelings' 'sensings' etc. out--especially when they are so subtle as to be hard to tell between the still small voice of The Lord and our own mental noise.
Lots of far greater characters than I get upset at me calling myself a beginner. But I haven't seen anyone's track record very lofty in quality--particularly my own--though some think I've hit 80%. I don't.
I have gotten to the place that I'm almost averse to listening and especially to reporting because the whole field is such a mess. But such a passive or wimpy attitude doesn't seem right or fitting either--especially when one is talking about listening to God.
And certainly Scripture exhorts us to covet the best gifts; ask; receive; operate in etc. So, how can we say no.
So, I tend to be quiet unless something unusual and a bit startlingly different in my experience particularly catches my attention. Then, as I Cor 12-14 exhorts, I offer it to the congregation hereon in the closed caucus for discernment. Seems like a very Biblical thing to me.
My former AoG pastor is so fedup with churchianity and things AoG in particular he's sort of thrown the baby out with the bath though he technically still believes in such. And the rest of such folks in this town are on so much of their own hobby horses, I'd be reluctant at best to bounce anything off them.
So, I come here.
I think the diversity of still LIKE-MINDED FOLKS is very healthy hereon. And, the spread across the country is a good thing as well, I think--and around the world. Seems like an ideal combination of things to function as a Spirit-led sounding board; 'school' as it were in such things.
