Interesting, however, I think an airtight case for male leadership over the church can be gleaned straight from scripture, without having to rely (first) on Tradition--rather seeing how Tradition supports scripture.
Note, I'm not arguing for giving Tradition no weight...but since it is not fully defined, and not always consisant, or therefore inerrent, just not as weighty as the Bible.
God's direct revelation should take precedence over, while cooperating with and being supported by, Tradition. I realize though she is Eastern Orthodox now however--and they never had a Reformation.
It is argued that God's direct revelation was received and experienced by the Apostles and the Apostles taught the first leaders of the Church. What the Apostles taught came to be written down later. The Greek Scriptures express what they believed and were willing to die for. It isn't an "either-or" proposition. Orthodoxy rests on Scripture and the Apostolic Tradition, and do they do not contradict each other.
