Prayer request for the abortion ban in South Dakota, and the election in general.
10-29-06 | Vanity

Posted on 10/29/2006 5:38:29 PM PST by redgolum

On November 7, this nation will have a national election. Along with the candidates for federal and local offices, there is a ballot measure in South Dakota that will ban abortion in most cases.

Most of us here on FR will not be voting in South Dakota. But we can pray that the good citizens will cast the vote that will begin the end of the practice of infanticide.

This is a prayer request. My wife and I will be praying on the seventh, and would this is something that we all need to pray for. My bride’s mom is very active in the pro life movement in South Dakota, and would welcome our prayers.

Please pray and fast on Tuesday November 7 for this to be the beginning of the end of abortion

I asked CPFL about something like this earlier, and he agreed to ping the list. Wagglebee, perhaps this would fit also.

This vote is a big one. Please pray for the people of South Dakota, that they may be the first to turn their face back toward God.

Joining your prayers. We all need to be diligent in prayer not only for the unborn, but for this nation in total.

Join our National Prayer Campaign!

A great prayer for life is urgently needed, a prayer which will rise up throughout the world. Through special initiatives and in daily prayer, may an impassioned plea rise to God, the Creator and lover of life, from every Christian community, from every group and association, from every family and from the heart of every believer.”

 – Pope John Paul II, The Gospel of Life (Evangelium Vitae), n. 100.

Brothers and sisters,

Because prayer is the foundation of all we do in the pro-life movement, we invite you to join tens of thousands of others who are offering, each day, a prayer of commitment to build a culture of life.

On the links below you will find various aspects of our national prayer campaign.

You will see our ongoing Novena to end abortion. This novena continues throughout the year, and there are links to obtain the prayer in English and in Spanish.

You will also see below the link for the special Prayer Campaign for Elections 2006. This is a double novena, two periods of nine weeks of prayer, starting on Tuesday the Fourth of July and concluding on Election Day, November 7, 2006.

And remember, prayer leads to action.  Please volunteer for election related activities.  And please also equip yourself with our new booklet, "Voting with a Clear Conscience."

When you sign up you will have an opportunity to leave your email address with us. This will also enable you to receive my regular pro-life commentary every two weeks.

Thank you for joining this prayer effort. Please spread the word!

National Director

Dear Jim and Mods,

If we post Prayer threads for fellow Freepers in News/Activism, then certainly a Prayer Thread for our beloved Country is in line there also.

Please consider moving this thread to News/Activism as it seems more appropriate there.

Thanks,

Kevin

Definitely appropriate, redgolum. No eloquence needed.

Prayer and fasting, as was practiced at times by our founding fathers, is certainly, certainly appropriate. Let all Christian men and women unite as such on that sober day.

Thank you so much for this thread!

The battle in Missouri is of national importance as well, and I would submit this for targeted prayer.

In Vermont Bernie Sanders(Socialist) is running for Jeffords vacated Senate seat, and Leaky Leahy(Traitor) appears sure to be voted back in. Oh, FReepers and Freedom Fighters, please pray that Our Gracious, Forgiving, Sovereign God will remove these unrighteous leaders from our Senate chambers and from the very important committee positions!
