But which law--the first amendment, or the tax code?,

Several times I have taken the oath to "preserve and defend the Constitution the United States...". That means all of its Ammendments as well.

I find it odd that IRS officers, having taken the same oath, would violate it so willingly.

I'd already done the context conversion, cuz I do the same kinda thing myself. I'm none too worried about getting burned, either for real or in effigy. Since I'm a middle-aged broad, it's kinda hard for anyone to feel all that threatened by me.

I'm so glad someone bumped this thread for me, cuz I meant to respond to you earlier, but had left a ton of windows to read open & while working my way through them, your response to me had scrolled off my ping page. lol

I thought that article was a thought provoking read. I think the author is Norwegian & for some reason, I tend to think French or German when I think of "continental".

Besides the entire form of taxation (income) of our current system, your response to me made me wonder about how our current tax code treats political parties. I don't think they pay any kind of income taxes on contributions.

Thanx for bumping this thread for me. :o)

I agree with you! Same for those who enacted the code in the first place, as well as those currently in positions of power to correct it.
