Spurgeon may be right many times but I don't think John the Baptist spoke Greek!

I think what was meant here is that Spurgeon may lose a theological argument in the English version of the New Testament but not in the original Greek version.

I believe Jesus and his disciples spoke Aramaic, not Greek, but I could be wrong. (I was once--smile.)
