THE CHURCH Society has called on Anglican Primates to break with the American Episcopal Church because it had not shown regret for electing a practicing homosexual bishop. The traditionalist group say that the lack of a commitment not to repeat this means that swift action is needed before the coming meeting of Primates which takes place early next year in Tanzania.
In an open letter to the Archbishop of Canterbury this week they argue that the only option left is to cast the Episcopal Church out of the communion. In the wake of the recent ECUSA General Convention we hope and pray that appropriate action will now be taken to safeguard the future witness of the Anglican Communion, they state.
It should be clear to all that ECUSA and others have stepped well beyond the boundaries of orthodox, apostolic Christianity. We believe that postponing action any longer can only damage the Communion and the witness of Anglican churches worldwide. Church Society continue to say that in order to retain church discipline the Anglican Communion must formally break fellowship with those in error.
Let's hope & pray true Anglican Christians are able to save their church from these godless buggers
bump
For TEC, I think it is too late. But the world-wide Anglican Communion will probably emerge just fine, albeit without TEC and maybe CofE.
