"I have an Explorer, but it will be PACKED! My advice would be to put the heaviest stuff in the Explorer, and ship the light weight bulky stuff, like pillows, blankets, pots and pans etc. Tie the bike on the front of the truck, or on the top."

MY advice would be this: SELL everything you can't absolutely live without and replace it after you get up here. No sense paying freight/postage on tons of useless stuff you'll just have to put into storage when you arrive. Keep your lovie-blanket and your favorite coffee cup, but sell furniture, bedding, dishes (unless they are heirlooms, of course) and go light. It cost me $16,000 to move up here in August of last year. I wouldn't do it again.

That's good advice too.

$16,000 to move? Good thing you don't have to do it again. Wow.

I'm going to try and go as light as possible.

I'll check out a used trailer possibly this weekend, which I can sell there I imagine.

I'm also going to check out a huge roof-top ski box, which I could fit quite a bit in also. I would like one anyways, and I could easily sell it in AK, probably for a profit.

No furniture will be coming with, and I don't need fancy stuff when I get there. Goodwill furniture is a luxury for me!
