Ecclesiastical HOOAH!
Excellent!! I have posted about it on my blog.
We here in Texas would be honored to have the Rector and his parish, I'm sure. Don't know how he would like the Diocese of Texas (Houston), though. The bishop wrote a letter to the local "newspaper" (you should pardon the expression) which was published last Saturday, in which he stated that the diocese was part of the Episcopal Church and the Anglican Communion and he intends to keep it that way. Unless the bishop is subtly preserving the possibility of a free hand in the event of a conflict between being Episcopalian and being a member of the Anglican Communion, it looks like he is going to go along to get along. This would certainly frustrate many of the Anglican faithful (including some very influential people, who know even more influential people, don't ya know) who are quite upset over the GC.
We cousins over on the Romeward side of the Tiber will keep the lights on, of course.
Well, now, I did take a small step towards #9. There's a young man in our Scout Troop (sponsored by our parish) who had almost finished Shotgun Shooting Merit Badge. All he needed to do was to demonstrate cleaning a shotgun. So I brought my shotgun to church during Men's Club one Monday night, and he sat there and cleaned it under my direction.
I was amazed that none of the ladies raised a fuss when they heard. Perhaps I should give them more credit.
