No Thanks. One of the bases of the country was no royalty. I am quite content to continue with that tradition.
After seeing it in your post and also seeing it on your profile page, am I wrong to believe that you are promoting Mary as a new American, national symbol to be merged into a flag. (I don't assume that you intend to dispose of the current American flag but rather to promote this new flag merging American nationalistic and Christian (Catholic) religious symbolism as something new to wave in the culture wars.) Am I misunderstanding you?

Mary is the patron saint of the US. We Catholics believe in patriotism and prayer - and she's a great person to have on our team.
Usually I blow by all this saint stuff as an okay part of our culture, mostly a historical part.
But when you start trying to combine revered American national symbols with Catholic symbols....well, either you truly are clueless or you are like that crazy character in Iran who is wishing for a religious holocaust.
You are welcome, in my view, to win all the souls that you can win with either your sweet reason or your showmanship. But when you start pushing a bunch of Catholic crap (patron saint of America, etc.) on this entire country, yea, you are getting into the territory that I would fight about.

No, t-shirts that express your personal faith do not bother me. In fact, symbols of faith -- no matter how bold -- that stand in a traditional place do not bother me.
Mostly, I find myself in furious opposition to people who are trying to push religion OUT of the public square.
But, as you (and I) see, I feel just as strongly about people from the religious side who are trying to take new public ground.
I suppose that this exposes me as trying to make a deal with the religious community that is a bit like the "don't ask, don't tell" thing. We've gotten along pretty well in this country with our various views so I support the status quo.
I see the mixing of Catholic and national symbols in a flag as aggressive. It is an uneasy and imperfect truce. But pushed, I will break my respectful silence (I guess I already have in this thread) and say what I really think. If you are a fervent Christian "warrior" maybe you want this battle. I hope not.
You may be interested to know that I have recently been very agitated (and contributed generous financial support, by my standards) to a local classical FM radio station that is under assault for the religious-themed music that it programs on Sunday mornings. We are talking here of Bach and such.
I respect Christianity, including Catholicism, as a part of our heritage and our culture. But it has no meaning in my personal life. As you see, I can go over to the dark side pretty fast when I perceive it pushing aggressively against what in this country have been, until recently, comfortable boundaries. I realize that a certain evangelical zeal is embedded in Christian faith. Please be aware that it can excite some furious pushback.

Jesus must weep to see life treated like rubbish. This Country invites His wrath because of the sin of abortion.
Thank God all the prayers on the behalf of the unborn show Jesus that we may still turn this Country away from Moloch and to Jesus.

For Catholics, there is no "truce" between love of God and love of country. We believe that those who love God are also duty-bound to love country (not in a chauvinistic sense, but in the sense of true patriotism).
Thus, for us to ask the saints to intercede for our country, for us to commit our country to the protection of God, to ask for the prayers to God by the saints on behalf of our country is a normal expression of two things that go in harmony together: adoration and worship of God; proper love of country.
