So, I assume you are a Byzantine Catholic. You are not obligated to observe Divine Mercy Sunday. That's fine.

As a new Catholic, I am puzzled why you are making such an attack on a Latin Rite feast day. I don't suppose you would appreciate it if we attacked your feast days.

Because it is theologically incorrect to have a devotion focusing on a penitential theme during the Paschal season, which is a time of joy.

"For the sake of his sorrowful passion, have Mercy on us" has no place during a season when we should be celebrating Christ's victory over death.

I know that many Traditionalists would agree with me on that note at least.
