Buy it or rent it. It's brilliant film and worth watching a few times a year, not just Easter. |

No, I've watched it 3 times now. The brutality of it disturbs me. I might watch it again in a couple of years, but not right now.

Step away to eat an egg during the violent scenes(s), enjoy the rest.

I own it, but I won't be able to view it tomorrow night - I'll be at a Good Friday Service.

Have not seen it an don't have any desire to see it. It is a violent movie, has no spoken english words, and I already know the ending.
To: Rosary
Maybe I will. I have not seen my DVD in awhile.

We've watched The Passion On Good Friday for the past couple of years and have long had a family tradition of playing the complete
Mozart's 'Requiem'.
For anyone unfamiliar with same, here's and excerpt from likely it's best known passage:

ShowtimeAcademy Award Winning Director Mel Gibson presents The Passion of The Christ a film about the last twelve hours of Jesus of Nazareths life. The film begins in the Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus has gone to pray after the Last Supper. Jesus resists Satans temptations. Betrayed by Judas Iscariot, Jesus is then arrested and taken within the city walls of Jerusalem where leaders of the Pharisees confront him with accusations of blasphemy and his trial results in a condemnation to death.

It breaks my heart just to know what was done to Jesus. This year has been exceptionally humbling for me. We had a small communion service and a foot washing tonight and I was over come like never befor.
The weight of His sacrifice is overwhelming. I dont think that I would be able to make it through the movie.

You know, I've never seen it. That sounds like a good idea.Didn't much like it myself. It had all of the pain and none of the grace.

I agree. The Book was better than the movie. My opinion.
To: Rosary
I will probably watch it.

No. In our home, we remember the Lord's Glorification, not His murder.
