St. Joseph's DAY

Posted on 03/19/2006 2:25:12 PM PST by Rosary

Joseph, a pious and pure hearted man,who was honest, responsible, trustworthy, hardworking, and Godly, was chosen to be the foster Father-of Jesus Christ, and the pure Spouse of the Virgin Mary, on Earth. The guardian and provider for the Holy Family, was chosen amoung many to take this JOB. Imagine, his humility, in walking daily with the Son of God,Jesus Christ. Watching Jesus grow up and work at the skill of being a carpenter. Seeing Jesus' obedience,His holiness, and yet knowing as God allowed that one day Jesus, would go to die on the cross and Mary would be there,to suffer along with Him-it is said, that Mary and Jesus often talked of this time, when Jesus would die -in the manner and way and where, and the WHY? to open the gates of Heaven ! Joseph heard and saw the spot of the crucifixion..think about it.

Joseph is hardly mentioned in the Bible. Fact is, he is never "quoted" as saying anything. Joseph was a man of very intense faith. Serving His will with quiet dignity, and extreme faithfulness. Not a doormat. But of his own free will, choosing.

I was baptised on March 19 and have always taken that as a sign that St. Joseph watches over me in his own way.
