I know things have changed, but even this lapsed Catholic is shocked that people touch the Host. Worse yet, is that many Catholics no longer believe in the Real Presence.

I don't understand the psychological resistance of some to 'Take this and eat, for this is My Body' I view the receiving in the hand - taking - and eating the real body of our Lord as following his command.
How is this not reverent obedience to His command?
