I have been accused of "trolling," of "intentionally posting devisive material" etc.

Although others are not required to do so when posting, I will anticipate similar accusations arising because of this posting.

I will, likely, be accused I am acting with malign intent.

That likely reality being acknowledged, I will simply state I am posting this mainly for my Catholic brothers and sisters whose Faith, Tradition and Doctrine is routinely savaged in and out of Free Republic.

This material is presented to inform us about the Scriptural, Traditional, Orthopraxical, and Ecclessiastical realities of Papal Primacy. It is not posted to inflame the passions of those who believe differently

Of course any Non-Catholics are welcome to comment.

Unwanted are accusations that when a Catholic posts evidence sourcing Catholic claims they are fair targets of opportunity about "troll" this or "intentionally devisive" that.

Catholics have a right to post a defense of their Faith.

Sorry. I bolded some part of the text. I obviously erred in formatting it.

An interesting article.

I'm not sure who said that such material would be divisive, or trolling. I don't doubt that there are some seriously disturbed anti-Catholics not only on this board but in the entire world.

Speaking for FR though, IMO, FR has become a much more receptive place for Catholics then when I first joined. I think it's important to note the level of civility from the average Protestant FReeper has risen dramatically in the last few years.

Just my two cents. And meant as a compliment to all the civil Protestants on here. I would even go so far as to say FR is more civil than most boards I've visited.

Good, post....I can see folks disagreeing, but getting angry would portray an alterior motive.

This post has that legalistic writing style that I find so very easy to comprehend, I wish some of our friends from other traditions could post more apologetic material written in this style, it would make it much easier for me to understand where there coming from.

All that said I figure you'll hear about 1274 by the end of the day and a few sola scriptura arguements.

While on the subject of Scriptura, anyone know where I can find 3rd and 4th Maccabees (often appears in Eastern Christian Bibles) online? I'm curious what's in them, 1 and two are very good reads.....

The Roman Liturgy (Solemnity of Sts Peter & Paul) teaches us that the textual evidence for the primacy of Peter is to be found in John 21:15-17 where Jesus gives the ministry of feeding and guarding His entire flock to Peter.

Matthew 16 and 18 does indeed establish episcopal authority, rather than Petrine primacy. This episcopal authority is established with Peter and includes the entire apostolic college.
