St. Zoticus, Feeder of Orphans
December 31st
Troparion (Tone 4)
Thou hast become like the Apostles in their states, a successor to their throne, finding indeed the intelligential ladder, O thou God-inspired. Therefore, thou hast followed the Word of God in righteousness, and striven unto blood for the Faith. O Martyr among Priests Zoticus, intercede with Christ God to save our souls.
St. Zoticus was of noble birth and wealthy. He gave up his position and wealth, was ordained to the priesthood and moved to Constantinople. Emperor Constantine supported his work among the poor, infirm and orphans. He organized and administered a large home for their care. After Constantine the Great's repose, his son, Constantius, was jealous of the wealth that his father had given to the poor by Zoticus' hand. Constantius tied St. Zoticus behind a wild ass which was driven through the streets until the aged Saint died of his wounds.

Lazamataz gets my vote. Sharp, urbane, debonair, suave, and sophisticated. And knows formal wear is required on FR. |

I always thought that St. Thomas Aquinas is a protofreeper. Objection - On the Contrary - I Answer That - Reply to Objection. This is the Free Republic method.
