Couldn't the eagle's wings being removed from the lion just refer to the division that occurred when we (the U.S.) became our own nation?
Well, only that the symbol of the eagle isn't mentioned anymore past that point. And the next time we see Britain- the lion (her symbol today), is when the antichrist's empire is formed. Part bear (Russia), part lion (Britain), part leopard (Germany) and teeth of iron (Italy-Rome).
These will be part of the ten nation empire, but these 4 nations (the heavy hitters) will have most of the power.

Jack Kinsella's take that because the US is predominantly a Christian nation that a significant chunk will be caught-up in the rapture could very well be correct, and to take it even further, look at it this way.
Jesus predicted that in the last days he would seperate the wheat from the chaff. Meaning, seperating what is usefull and productive from what is not. Has there not been a growing and deep divide in this country? You betcha, and how does that relate?
Republicans are by far more devout Christian's than the rats are. While there are many rats who claim to be "Christian", it's more akin to the RINO's in the republican party.
That being said, when the rature happens it's going to leave behind an overwhelming ammount of democrats to run things, and we can all just imagine how screwed up things will get with nothing but the rats running EVERYTHING.
I believe the rats will scede control and soveriegnty of the US over to the UN. John Kerry already hinted at it and Clinton DID do some things. So to believe that it's impossible is stupid.
Once enough soveriegnty has been relignquished to the UN, the Anti-christ will rear his head from the EU. He will use the chaos created from the rapture to pull the left behind remnants of people from around the world to establish the "New World Order", which after 3 1/2 year's of a false peace treaty in the Middle East, will come against Jerusalem.
I think they're probably thinking about WMD's. The idea you can push a button, and blammo- wipe a nation off the earth in a second. Spooky stuff.
The EU will then be the shaky standard-bearer for western civilization and will sit back and watch Gog & Magog advance towards Jerusalem... and Armageddon.
The ONLY references to the United States in the bible are where it speaks of "the nations."

You know, I hear you. I mean, we're all over some of those verses-- but--- the term "Babylon" simply refers to the culture and practices of the Babylonians, which survive today- all over the world. They influenced all of mankind, materially as well as spiritually. The home of idolotry and many of the erors that all nations embrace. In fact, after the earth is levelled (I think, by a violent and rapid spinning of the planet about an axis), the mountains are leveled, the valleys are filled in (by the mountain debris, and the oceans are more or less shrunken by a 3 1'2 year drought and , what I think is a helium flash in the sun, a small nova that causes the "seas to boil". Anyway, after the earth is leveled out and more land mass is made (for agriculture), an angel in heaven says - now is Babylon destroyed. So he's talking about all the nations of the earth- not just America. We've all went our own way.
Now, that being said, do we have a lot of responsibility? of course, because we are so influential. 24 hours a day we beam "Babylonish" media all over the planet. So we're satan's transmitter, and God will have to take us out, but the entire planet is guilty. The only reason we've enjoyed so much freedom and so many liberties and blessings is because for a time, we sheltered Israel. Now that we've turned our back to her, and thrown her to the wolves, our shields are down, and God is under no agreement to look after us. We're on our own.
Besides, the Bible concerns itself mostly with the nations that directly influence Israel. The family of Israel. I dont' think the Bible is a book of American history. In God's eyes, we're just another nation that rose, and is falling. A blip on the radar.

The mother of this harlot is Babel Hagdolah or Babylon the Great, because Babylon is the mother of harlots.
seeing this dream was from the most famous babylon king, it hard not to related it to revelation 18
