As a former member of that, ummmm, organization, I have a standing open offer to answer any FReeper's qusetions about Scientology, either in open forum, or via FReepmail.

I will do my best to answer as promptly, concisely and accurately as possible, but as I left some time ago, I'm not always privy to the latest wrinkles.

Still, from what I can gather from my few remaining contacts not that much has really changed!

Thank you for your willingness to educate us all! I've been very curious about Scientology. Can you tell me how someone is held against their will (regarding post 70)?

It never happened to anyone I know personally, but there are a number of remote scientology locations. If you've been transfered to a desert location, with an unknown distance to any other civilization, in an unknown direction your options are rather limited. That happened to several very high scn officials shortly after Hubbard died.

There are also shipboard locations, and simply locking someone in the basement...

I take that back, I did meet one person who had that happen to him. Dammed if I can remember his name! He was 'the Top Tech Terminal on the planet' before Miscaviage and Co. took over.

We have a high ranking CO$ guy in Arizona that is well known for spamming message boards, filing lawsuits and other nefarious things. The guy is pure slime, and he is a relator who does hundreds of radio and tv ads.

They have moved their HQ 3 times to smaller and smaller offices here, they are losing.

Good to hear. At The Complex in LA they used to park extra cars in the lot so it would look busy. Maybe I'll drive by next time I'm down that way...

In one video, the guy follows one of the LA goons through the streets of LA for about 20 minutes asking him questions and being met with silence as the guy keeps walking, its hilarious.

Another time he gets attacked and hit by the goons, and one of their guys pretends to get hurt and is limping, but a few minutes later the "limp" is gone, till the cameraman points it out, and the guy starts limping in an exaggerated fashion.

One of these days I'm going to go in and take the personality test, but sneak in the "correct" answers in and see what dance they do to say I need auditing.

It's only for the very elite, public signs no contracts, ordinary staff is usually on a few years contract. Time served in exchange for auditing and training.

Yes. There are several scientology courses that are worth doing. (if one could only avoid the church in the process!) The communication course, study tech, knowing the tone scale are all useful. Life repair, some of the lower grades processing, and the first 10-50 hours or so of dianetics will pretty much handle what's bugging a person.

I don't recall Ron ever claiming to be God, or even a god. His more fanatic followers AKA 'Rondroids', make such claims to each other in whispers...
