11/13/2005 - 8:30pm
As of 8:30pm Sunday his condition appears to be declining, but we urge you to continue praying for him. Just as Dr. Rogers has told us, we trust our great God. We will endeavor to update you throughout the weekend as they are available. "The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and He knoweth them that trust in Him." (Nahum 1:7)
My prayers for Dr. Rogers...
Lord, into your hands we commend our brother. Be with the medical staff working with him, strengthen those who love him, and bring healing of heart, mind, soul, and if your will, body to him.
In the name of Jesus, we ask, Amen.
LORD please bring peace and healing to your humble servant Dr. Rogers.
11/14/2005 - 5:15pm(CT)
We appreciate the fervent prayers that are being offered on Dr. Rogers behalf and that of his family.
If you are checking our website for the first time regarding our updates, Dr. Rogers developed a blood clot in his lungs causing double pneumonia while undergoing chemotherapy treatments for colon cancer. He is currently on a ventilator to aid his breathing.
As this day comes to a close, Dr. Rogers condition still remains unchanged.
Hebrews 4:16 - Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Thanks for the update. Will join in prayer for Dr. Rogers.
Hm. Sounds quite serious. All is in God's hands.
It is with great sorrow that Bellevue Baptist Church announces the passing of her beloved Pastor Emeritus, Dr. Adrian Rogers. For 32 years, Dr. Rogers taught the Bellevue congregation the Word of God, displayed the character of Jesus, and showed us how to trust, love, and follow the Holy Spirit. With his guidance, Bellevue experienced tremendous growth in numbers and maturity. One can encapsulate Dr. Rogers' service to us in one brief statement: he taught us how to love Jesus. For that we are eternally grateful. His accomplishments are many; his reward in heaven eternal. We will continue to remember Joyce and the family in our prayers and Dr. Rogers in our hearts.

He was my pastor for the past 25 years... a great man who truly displayed the character of Christ. He will be missed.
I am so, so sorry. Went to LWF website earlier, and found this out, but figured someone else wanted to say more, and you did.
I grew up listening to the sermons of Dr. Rogers on television, and he is also a great preacher. I knew he was sick but didn't know how badly off he was.
I will add his name to my morning prayer list. Does anyone know his father's name?

Barukh 'Attah HaShem 'Eloqeinu Melekh Ha`Olam, Dayyan Ha'Emet!
Oh my! I just posted that I would add his name to my morning prayes and now I read this!
Dr. Rogers was a true theologian in a world that has come to bestow that term only on overintellectualized skeptics whose "gxd" is that of the philosophers rather than the G-d of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
I do not agree with all of Dr. Rogers' theology (obviously), but I know he served G-d consistently with his beliefs and I know he will be greatly rewarded.
Welcome to the Garden of Eden, Dr. Rogers. You still believed in it, and now you are there.
His parents were Arden and Rose Rogers.
