Catholic Anti-Catholicism Katelyn Sills, a young Catholic lady attending Loretto High School in Sacramento, California, has been expelled. Katelyn and her family in particular her mother, Wynette - brought to light the fact that one of the Loretto drama teachers was acting as an escort for women seeking abortions through the local Planned Parenthood killing center clinic. The teacher was subsequently fired...

Why was she expelled?
So is the good Bishop going to do something besides sit on his hands and make a statement about the now fired Ms. Bain's unsuitability to teach at this school? Like marching its administrators out on the street and firing them?
Most of the trouble in communist countries occurred because the leaders of all ranks, wishing to justify their existence and to appear busy and important, suffered from an incessant itch to meddle in everything. If one is to imagine that instead they would be frequently and loudly parroting the words "none of my ****ing business!!" several times a day (and the more and the louder the better) - why, then even Cambodia would not have had its killing fields. Paradise it would not become, but still would be a much better place. Ditto about Gulagland, Laogailand etc. And maybe we should learn to say the same magic phrase loudly and frequently, too.
Below is an excerpt from the school's letter posted in a combox on Katelyn's site. It sounds to my (fairly old and experienced) ear like the usual sort of spin and self-justification. If Ms. Sill's blog is an example, she is a polite and level-headed young lady. It is her enemies who seem to be guilty of what she is accused of. Like I said, those who respond should be POLITE.
Interesting twist on reality. "It's not my problem" is what has facilitated every hideous atrocity of the past century. "They came for the Jews, but it wasn't my business, so I kept my mouth shut. They came for the Gypsies, but it wasn't my business, so I kept my mouth shut. They came for the Catholics, but it wasn't my business, so I kept my mouth shut. And when they came for me, there was no one left to object."
And luckily, [the magic phrase].
Did they really misspell integrity as integruty?
I think it's sad that the Sills family has self-imposed a moratorium on speaking out about this expulsion.
If they are being threatened with a slander lawsuit over the email, in my experience with Catholic schools it is nothing more than an empty threat to silence them. In fact accusing them of slander can itself be slanderous, and I would strongly counsel them to consider being aggressive to the extent possible. At a minimum they should make it clear that they consider the accusation of slander to be slanderous itself.
The bottom line in this whole dispute is that the Sills were vindicated by the Bishop removing the abortion escort from the Catholic school. That's how the vast majority of people will see it, and nobody should shut up about her scandalous involvement and the praiseworthy act of the Bishop.
They will obviously have to go to another school, but they ought to carry the firing as the banner of triumph it truly is.
Congratulations on your efforts to expose the teacher as an abortion escort. See my post above. Best wishes.
Thank you....
Seems to me that Sister Helen Timothy should be the next to go. What part of the school handbook does she not understand? The fired teacher was helping to promote abortion...duh!
As a Catholic, nothing makes me sicker than so called "Catholics" not standing up against abortion. But as my hubby says, God knows what they're doing. Still....it makes me furious!
I sent a nice note to Katelyn.
It won't be long before conservative Catholic private schools start popping up all around the country. We've already got a conservative private grade school in Philly. I'm sorry it won't be in time for this young lady or her family.
When they would no longer tolerate the Catholics at Georgetown, the Catholics built Ave Maria. It's time for conservative Catholics to start building more of their own schools.
For years, my wife and I concentrated our charitable efforts toward pro-life causes. Our new focus is orthodox Catholic education.
Bump that. Homeschool a few subjects, some community college courses, and she's ready to apply to a good Catholic university, assuming she's got the SAT scores for it.
Why pay a fortune to play games with liberals?

I agree. She's in much less danger of losing her faith, now that she's out of that place.
But the school administrators who did this should be punished severely.
Best wishes, Katelyn.
