Please pray for my daughter's new firstborn. James Patrick seemed to be doing well for the first few hours of his life, but has been placed in the ICU.
The delivery seemed to go very well, though the baby was larger than expected and preparations had been made for a C-section.He is now 7 hours old and my daughter has not yet held him.
When I last spoke with her, hospital personnel had not told her what was wrong.

Your post just made me cry. I am so pleased James is doing well. May the grace and mercy of our Lord surround all of you at this time.

Great news!
I am happy to hear that everything has improved.

Peggy and her husband visited with James twice yesterday. They think James is the cutest baby ever!! They were able to feed him during one of the visits. The baby is now hooked up to one small IV and will probably be going home in about 4 days, when the course of antibiotics is finished.

Peggy and her husband were able to bring James home two nights ago. Yesterday, they brought him to their pediatrician who said James is doing fine and won't need to return to the office for 3 weeks.
Things seem to be going well for the new family.
Thanks be to God and thanks to all of you for your prayers and other support. This was a week filled with uncertainty and I'm very grateful you came to our assistance.

When my oldest was born, he tested "questionable" for menangitis so he was wisked away to the NICU. Docs and nurses wouldn't tell us anything because they didn't have a definitive diagnosis. Subsequent tests proved negative and he was out 2 days later. Hopefully they are just being overcautious.

James seems to be settling well into life in the outside world.
Maybe (?) because he was fed through tubes in the ICU there seemed to have been a little bit of a delay in his interest in feeding.
Now he seems to have caught on to being awake enough to be fed, and he seems as alert as any baby.
I know all your prayers made a big difference, especially to Peg, who imagined the worst. I had brought a print-out of the Freeper prayers to her in the hospital. When she felt she was not praying well, she was comforted to know that others were helping her.
Thank you all, again.
