Since the Angelic Salutation ("Hail Mary") is taken almost verbatim from the Bible, I think I know who's taking fright at shadows here . . .
And the Nicene Creed is said at every Mass, which is more than one can say about some other denominations . . . (BTW, it also mentions Mary . . . < boo! scared ya! > )

It seems that you have never even thought of Mary as being the Ark of the New Covenant. Did not she carry the New Covenant (Jesus Christ) within her?
