I'd like to ask for prayer for my brother-in-law (Dennis, age 36) who was just this week diagnosed with leukemia. This has come as quite a shock to all of us. He had been feeling tired lately (for 3 weeks or so) and went to the doctor on Tuesday, but none of us suspected this.
He has five children - ages 12, 10, 8, 6 and 15 mos. He's married to my younger sister.
The type of leukemia he has is called acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL), a very aggressive form but it also responds very well to treatment. Please pray that the cancer will not grow rapidly nor spread to other parts of his body, and that treatment will go well and be successful, if that's the Lord's will for him.
Thanks so much for lifting him, my sister, their children, and the rest of our family up in prayer. My sister feels like she needs to be two people right now in two different places (in the hospital with her husband and at home for her children). Right now we're doing our best to care for her children so she can concentrate on Dennis and his recovery.
Thanks so much for your prayers!

She has answered our familiy's prayers for help with a cancer diagnosis -
believe and pray.
Thanks so much to all of you for your prayers. There truly is power in prayer to our Heavenly Father when we pray to Him in Jesus' Name.
My sister and brother-in-law report that they can feel the prayers of the many praying for them. They are experiencing God's grace and peace through all of this. After the initial shock their children are also settling into the new routine and are doing well, considering all that's been thrown into their lives right now.
Dennis has now gone through his first round of chemo and is doing well. So far he hasn't experienced the extreme weakness and fatigue that often accompanies such treatment, and we're praying that continues.
Pray also that the chemo effectively kills the cancer without harming his health otherwise.
Thanks again to all the FR prayer warriors who so willingly pray for people they don't know. Your prayers are being answered.
Continuing to pray.
This is a ping to update all of you who posted prayers regarding my BIL, Dennis, and also to ask for additional prayers.
He has come through his first round of treatments in the hospital (one month as of Wednesday) and is waiting to be able to go home again. There's only one thing holding them back from releasing him at this point and that is his white blood count. Please pray that they will come up as they should and that he'll soon be able to be home again. He and his family are both anxious for that to happen soon. :)
Also, continue to pray for my sister and their children. There's a lot on my sister's shoulders right now, and I'm proud of her for being so strong during all of this. She readily admits, though, that it is because of the Lord and all the prayers going up for her. The children are also doing well, but they have a lot to deal with themselves and my prayer is that the Lord will carry them through this time and help them to understand and also use it to prepare them for what He has for them in the future.
May God richly bless all of you for taking the time to pray for someone you don't know.
Thank you for the update. Continuing prayers sent.
