Gideons International is rushing 350,000 Bibles to shelters in the Gulf Coast. You can visit their website to make an online donation.
This is a good thing. I think a little more God is needed here and a lot less godlessness. Sad thing is the animals among the sheep cannot or will not read. At least the good will have comfort in the Bible. Donating and sending the link out.
Psalm 46:7 The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.
Psalm 91:2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
Psalm 94:22 But the LORD is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge.
Psalm 142:5 I cried unto thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living.
Prov 14:26 In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.
Jer 16:19 O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction...
Am I the only one here who thinks they should have donated $350,000 instead to actually help the victims?
Psalm 119:103 How SWEET are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!
Psalm 119:104 Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.
Psalm 119:105 NUN. THY WORD is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Psalm 119:107 I am afflicted very much: quicken me, O LORD, according unto THY WORD.

Proverbs 6:20 My son, keep thy father's commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother:
Pro 6:21 Bind them CONTINUALLY upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck.
Pro 6:22 When thou goest, IT shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, IT shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, IT shall talk with thee.
Pro 6:23 For the commandment is a LAMP; and the law is LIGHT; and reproofs of instruction are the way of LIFE:

Deuteronomy 11:18 Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.
Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
I agree. Supplying Bibles is a nice gesture, but basic needs should be met first.
Bibles can sustain faith, which is deperately needed in times like this.
Man cannot live by bread alone. :)
Very nice of them, but will they be damned for doing so?
Do you think they could use rosaries too?
The Gideons is a Protestant group, I believe, but I'm certain rosaries would be a comfort to many refugees. I wonder if you could get in touch with a Catholic relief organization?
