Union of Orthodox Citizens appeals to Alexy II to break all relations with the Vatican and start missionary work in Europe and America
Moscow, August 23, Interfax - As the Uniates have become more active in Ukraine the Orthodox public have appealed to Patriarch Alexy of Moscow and All Russia to end all relations with the Roman Catholic Church and begin missionary work in Europe and America.
It is necessary to accept in the fold of the Orthodox Church all the Old Catholic communities who wish to join it, to establish a Russian Orthodox school for training Latin-rite clergy for service in Europe and America and to develop intensive Orthodox missionary work there, an appeal of the Union of Orthodox Citizens to Patriarch Alexy states.
The authors of the appeal, the text of which was given to Interfax, believe that any relations with the Vatican should be interrupted since the Catholic Church is believed to use them only for her own purposes.
In our view, any agreement with the RCC pursues exclusively the Vaticans interests and prevents the Church of Christ from carrying out the service commanded by the Lord. There is only one way to beat a card-sharper - not to sit at a card-table with him, the Union of Orthodox Citizens maintains.
Me too, Alexy.
The Georgian Orthodox Church protests against Catholic propaganda in schools
Tbilisi, August 25, Interfax - The Georgian Orthodox Church is against We Build the Future Roman Catholic Churchs program in Georgian secondary schools.
The statement of the Patriarchate circulated Thursday says that the Georgian Church considers it impossible to create a religious organization for popularization of Catholicism in secondary schools.
Such actions arouse justified public dissatisfaction and cripple traditional relations with the Catholic Church, the statement reads.
Georgian mass media has reported earlier this week that the Roman Catholic Church assigned over five million dollars for carrying out We Build the Future program in Georgia intended to set up youth religious clubs in schools.
Georgia is 95% Christian. Nice choice for evangelizing.
You go, OC! Theirs is by far the most vital form of Christianity left in the world. They need to send missionaries to Europe and the USA. May God bless their efforts.
......................GREAT THINGS ARE HAPPINING IN THE ORTHODOX CHUCHES!..............................
Here, here!
OK--so Catholics should not proselytize on "Orthodox" territory but Orthodox can proselytize in heavily "Catholic" territory (at least nominally) in Europe, including Italy which is Catholic Country ?
Sorry but I don't think it's fair -:))))
Any proselytization that does not include sword or other type of forced conversion is not a crime. It's a free and legitimate excercise of religion.
How are they trying to be active, spending millions to indoctrinate schoolchildren? I don't think so.
The strategy they use is one of shifting the heat off the scadals and the aboninably low numbers of believers in Europe, as well as ultraliberals in America, and making the Latin side appear "pastoral" and "conciliatory" along with pagentry and public pomp, offering friendly gestures with one hand and wielding a Uniate knife in the other under the table. Thus, when the Orthodox reject their false moves and dismiss their sordid smiles, it is the Orthodox who on the surface appear ungreatful. Clever. The Jesuits are alive and well.
So, I wonder: Who are the Union of Orthodox Citizens? And will the Patriarch consider their view to be of any value?
MarMema, it all goes back to the Fatima fantasy: it's a Crusade against Russia.
According to the Fatima fairytale the Theotokos appeared in 1917 and said:
"If My requests are heeded, Russia will be converted, and there will be peace; if not, she will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church." [so, the message is: the Orthodox Church spreads errors and causes wars and persecutions of the (Roman Catholic) Church. Is this not a smear par excellence?]
According to the "accurate" recollection of this fantasy event, the Theotokos then said:
"The good will be martyred, the Holy Father will have much to suffer, various nations will be annihilated. In the end, My Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to Me, and she will be converted, and a period of peace will be granted to the world. [so the wars are entirely due tot he fact that Russia is not consecrated to Theotokos (?), and is the sole, and unique source and cause of wars and unrest?]
The sooner the Orthodox realize that there is a Crusade underway in Russia and Orthodox lands, the sooner they can put an end to "dialogue" and "reconciliation" along with measures that will stop this insanity.
It seems clear to me that the story of Fatima is a Doctrine of Conquest, a form of jihad, and should be treated as such.
Practice makes perfect.
And I love you too, my brother in Christ.
Truth hurts. Politics and greed are far more active in the Church than love. Otherwise we wouldn't be having this discussion of one side of the Church committing jihad against the other.
You are good!
Jesuit training.
