Agony In Albany (Revisited)
RCF ^ | May 2004 | Stephen Brady

Posted on 08/05/2005 1:42:34 PM PDT by NYer

The Roman Catholic Faithful (RCF) is simply what our name states: we are Catholics who are faithful to the teachings of the Holy Father and the Magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church. Some of our members are priests, others are religious, but most are ordinary laity. Our diverse membership has a common goal -- to fight actively and spiritually to restore Holy Mother Church.

The following was originally published in monthly installments through The Wanderer. A word of caution. This is a lengthy but riveting article.

To understand how all of this happened in Albany, it helps to know that Hubbard and Clark (Albany & Rochester) were picks of Archbishop Jean Jadot

If he is "proud" of those bishop appointments, he must be a homosexual Communist or something similarly diabolical and anti-Catholic. How...twisted.

If you can make the time - READ - the RCF report. It will make you hair stand on end. To fathom all that I encountered here, I searched for "who" would suggest such an individual for this position. That is when I came across the article on Jadot. He 'intentionally' recommended young priests like Hubbard and Clark with the expectation that they would outlive the Holy Father and be elevated to Cardinal. What Jadot failed to factor in was the Holy Spirit. Of all Jadot's recommendations, only Mahony was elevated to Cardinal. Jadot's master plan was to fill the College of Cardinals with 'like minded' individuals who would tip the scales towards an ultra liberal Catholic Church and usher in Vatican Council III to finish the process.

Read the report!

Weep for the Church.

Weep for the Church .... in Albany, Rochester and Los Angeles. Otherwise, the Church is in good shape and doing quite well with her new shepherds.

Very true. What happens after these ultra-radical bishops leave is a lesson in itself. We in the Diocese of Richmond had one of these ultra-radicals. He left about two years ago. The replacement bishop has been cleaning house ever since.

We in the eastern churches are just spectators of course, but it's been interesting to see. Heads Are Rolling.

How well I know. I used to live there. I'm hoping that the situation there will improve enough so I can retire to SW Va.

From my point of view, the Roman Catholic diocese would have a hard time getting worse. From what I can tell, the new fella is a real improvement. Apparently, he's asking people to report liturgical abuse. Vocations have a new full time director.

Plan to retire to SW VA. If worse comes to worst on the Roman side of the aisle, there's a big Maronite church in Roanoke.

This is wonderful news! The cleanup has begun.

And what a beautiful church!

MARONITE RITUALS

Special feasts and rituals during the church year give earthly things spiritual significance.

Water, a common object, is blessed in various ways to give it a spiritual meaning. Example:
  • At Epiphany water is blessed with a lighted coal to signify the fire of the Spirit who divinized the Jordan waters at Christ's baptism.
  • At Pentecost, water is blessed with the priest's breath to signify the Divine Breath over the waters at creation.
  • At the Holy Cross water is blessed with a hand cross to signify the divine power that flows from the saving cross.

I could have reported liturgical abuses in the diocese of Richmond which would have made the new bishop's hair stand on end.

I am familiar with the Maronite Church in Roanoke and consider it to be an option if I move back to the area. I sure would like to have a traditional Roman rite parish to belong to, though.

"I could have reported liturgical abuses in the diocese of Richmond which would have made the new bishop's hair stand on end."

No doubt. The new Bishop has been very busy.

I've headed east and do consider myself more of a spectator at this point, but I am pleased to see some house cleaning going on. My Roman brethren deserved better.

"I sure would like to have a traditional Roman rite parish to belong to, though."

I assume you mean TLM? Not many of those in the Richmond diocese and I think the new Bishop will be hard pressed to provide more except in the large cities, if there. Vocations were pretty well decimated under his predecessor. Many parishes don't have a dedicated pastor at this point.
