The new Bishop of Linz, Austria supports meaningful dialogue with muppets. Like all ecumenical dialogue, it is all one sided! More seriously, he says that he wants to follow in the footsteps of the liturgically catastrophic Bishop Aichern. After twenty three years he is leaving the most liturgically dysfunctional Diocese in Christendom. And after the last forty years, there is plenty of competition for this title! Linz's "Shrine" to Judas was one example or Liturgy - Linz style

I've heard of Liturgical abuse in this country, but this takes the cake!

The fact that this can even go on is a true testament to the Holy Father's concern with the state of the Church in Europe.

I'm actually surprised to see this kind of liturgical abuse with so many people taking part in it in Europe. Frankly I'm surprised to see so many people under 50, even children, at a Catholic church in Western Europe. I would have thought that in a society as rabidly secular as Europe, the few that still go to church would be very serious about religion. Why do something that puts you at the marigins of society (go to church) if you didn't sincerely believe in it? Why would you marginalize yourself from the rest of your country by going to church only to act like a pagan hippie once there? Seems like it would be far easier for these flakes in Linz to indulge their "spirituality" outside of the Catholic Church.

This Church is a particularly bad example but there are many others in Austria and across Europe. Unchecked, it is the shape of things to come. As the Pope points out regarding the reformation, not even the people involved could identify the point when they were no longer Catholic. It will be the same here.

I'd say a "Shrine to Judas" would be a pretty good line in the sand and that's being generous.

When it reaches that point, you know that you've well and truly left the reservation.

If nothing is done about this place, Rome owes Kung an apology.
