THE PROTESTANT LEFT in lock step: we found it odd that this disinvestment protest uses some of the same phrases and claims as the recent Anglican APJN 2004 report; that there is indeed a systematic and a coordinated radical effort happening out there, which Anglicans appear to be parroting (with a few scriptural phrases attached) and blessing. Surely if we want to make sense, it helps to have an accurate picture of what is going on, not to take a militantly onesided political stance, and to seek reconciliation with ALL sides in such a long-standing and complicated situation. And just for the record: Jenny & Her Posse do not speak for all 70 million Anglicans. And as for her assertion that We claim to represent to you the absolute truth we witnessed .. well as long as you double-pinkie-swear, fine by us then, doc. Hanging around at good ol Ingham-U and flying around the world a lot does not infallibility make. Funny how religious liberals get so absolute on secondary matters
It is their money, and they will be investing it according to their lights. If their new investments underperform their old investments, they will be punishing themselves for a bad decision. And if their new investments outperform their old investments, the decision about investment switch will be more than justified.
They don't care about the profitability of investments, they're making a political statement. If they could make a huge return on Israeli investments, they would still be following this policy of disinvestment.
