The atheist left has realized that they need to stir the pot and try to cause emnity between the evangelicals and Catholics. Divide and conquer. I'm as easily baited by this stuff as anyone, but I think we need to put aside our differences and work together to ensure the defeat of the TRUE enemy.
Why should I waste my time attacking Protestants who agree with me on 80-90% of the important issues, when there exist large numbers of people that absolutely despise all things Christian? Both Catholics and Protestants should concentrate their efforts on the atheist secularists and muslims, not on each other.
"And John, answering, said: Master, we saw a certain man casting out devils in thy name: and we forbade him, because he followeth not with us. And Jesus said to him: Forbid him not: for he that is not against you is for you." Luke 9:49-50

Thank you. I find that a lot of people, Catholics and Christians of other denominations, have little understanding of the Rosary. And some of Catholicisms biggest bashers don't understand it and a few don't want to. Some are simply unaware that the info on the Rosary and other topics is out there, that it exists. Some don't want that information. It's been indispensible for me.

In today's world, "A (Christian) House Divided Against Itself Cannot Stand", was never more true.

The logic of retaining the death penalty is because it is prescribed by the Holy Bible, the inspired word of God. Does your Bible contain the incident where Jesus saves the adultress from being stoned to death? What is your personal interpretation of the incident?

She was not a murderess, just an adulteress; so death by stoning is a tad harsh. Plus it was the ancient equivalent of a lynch mob after her, not the authorities and due process.
However note this well that Jesus never questioned the Mosaic Law, when He said, "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her." He knew the whole episode was a trap set by the Pharisees. This incident is seized upon by the foes of capital punishment, but fails to prove that Jesus was against the concept, conversely it is implicit in His remarks that He accepted capital punishment.
More telling was the fact that He was crucified with two thieves and spoke to one of them promising him paradise. Not one word about the unjustness of being put to death for a crime or any criticism of the executioners. There is not one passage in the Bible that gives rise to the false notion that capital punishment should be forbidden, all the evidence is contrary.

Agreed. Sounds like rampant Catholic bashing to me.

There is a reason that the Catholic Church has a much more enormous problem with molestation than any other denomination; having paid the victims over $600,000,000. No amount of finger pointing elsewhere can gloss over that fact. A celibate all male priesthood that is tolerant of homosexuals in the ranks is to blame. Some estimates are the priesthood is 1/3 homosexual. Since homosexuality is an abomination, no homos should be ordained as priests. With married heterosexual clergy, a massive scandal like that would not have occurred.

It's funny how you find fault with "the ancient equivalent of a lynch mob" while you yourself salivate at the thought of executing "scum."

soooooo fake Yes. But I admit
in my deepest, secret soul,
when she dresses up
in a soft sweater,
curls up on her TV couch
and reads the Gospel,
I think she's sexy.
It's weird hair and weird make up,
but she's got that look . . .

Mosaic law doesn't specify a sinless executioner. What Jesus objected to was the summary justice of a mob.
Should taxpayers be penalized by taxation, better known as slavery, to provide room and board for life to the condemned? That is the ultimate injustice. The Bible sanctions the execution of a duly convicted criminal, and to object to that principal is to disbelieve the Word of God.

Where did she get that hair? It has to be a wig.
To: SoothingDave
Prove that by a quotation from scripture...
To: aspiring.hillbilly
John 8:7
So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
