How about this quote for today?
Monday, April 18, 2005 Easter Weekday For the Election of a Pope |
First Reading: Psalm: Gospel:
|
Hebrews 5:1-10 Psalm 89:4-5, 21-22, 25, 27 John 17:11, 17-23
Take heed not to foster thy own judgment, for, without doubt, it will inebriate thee; as there is no difference between an intoxicated man and one full of his own opinion, and one is no more capable of reasoning than the other. -- St. Francis de Sales |

I like that! St. Francis de Sales was such a good teacher.
Come, Holy Spirit, fill the Hearts of Your faithful and kindle in us the Fire of Your love.
Send forth Your Spirit and we shall be recreated
--And You will renew the face of the earth.
Let us pray:
O God, Who did instruct the hearts of Your faithful people by the Light of Your Holy Spirit, grant that by the same Spirit we may be truly wise and ever rejoice in His consolation. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Be with each and every one of the gathered Cardinals during this conclave, O Lord, and keep their hearts open to the work of your Spirit, that in the end, they will select the pastor for the Church that we need, to your glory.
Amen.

Man, the Ukranian cardinal's robes are way cooler than our Latin rite regalia. He looks like a Jedi Knight ready to do battle against the Evil One.

We are sooooo Blessed!
We have a Wonderful, Conservative Pastor. He is a Godsend.

At one time, I wanted to move back home to Cleveland to be near my family. After coming to this church, I can't leave the liturgy here. My girls say real Catholic prayers to start each CCD class. We have May Crowning and Corpus Christi. We say a Rosary before each Holy Mass and there are five of them on Sundays. I can't brag enough about our church.

Wow! I'm watching the MSNBC feed. Who is the cardinal with the beard wearing the black with a black cape striped with white instead of the scarlet like all the other cardinals? He not only read from the book, but bent to kiss the pages! First one I've seen do that out of all the cardinals. Awesome reverence!

I had a family in front of me last week that pushed me to the limit. We also have no 'cry room' and these kids were literally running up and down the aisles throughout the Mass!
Thank God the parents were chasing down their little boy when the Sign of Peace was given, or I don't know what I might have said to them.

"Smack in the Face" of peace?
Seriously, I don't understand it.
How many times should a parent say, "Tommy be quiet, you're in church" before they realize that it is a no win situation.
We DO have a cry room and like I said, the mom took the younger child there. I have no clue why the dad and older child did not go too. One Senior Slovak lady did try to shhh the parents but was ignored.
