Thank you so much for this, Salvation. I love seeing pictures of him as a healthy youthful man. My oldest son didn't recognize him. JP was really quite the looker! LOL. =)

I'm having a hard time winding down for sleep. I want to keep vigil with him.

Be Not Afraid

You shall cross the barren desert
But you shall not die of thirst.
You shall wander far in safety
Though you do not know the way.
You shall speak your words to foreign men
And they will understand.
You shall see the face of God and live.

Chorus:
Be not afraid, I go before you always,
Come follow me, and I will give you rest.

If you pass thru' raging waters in the sea
You shall not drown.
If you walk amid the burning flames,
You shall not be harmed.
If you stand before the pow'r of hell
And death is at your side,
Know that I am with you - through it all.
(Chorus)

Blesses are the poor
for the Kingdom shall be theirs.
Blest are you that weep and mourn,
For one day you shall laugh.
And if wicked men insult and hate you all because of me,
Blessed - blessed - are you!
(Chorus)

Pope John Paul II holds a St. Louis Blues hockey stick presented to him by the youth of St. Louis at the Light of the World papal youth gathering in this January 26, 1999 file photo. Pope John Paul II, the Pole who headed the Roman Catholic Church for 26 years and played a crucial role in the fall of communism in Europe, died on Saturday evening, the Vatican said. He was 84. The news was immediately announced to around 60,000 gathered in Saint Peter's Square and was met with a long applause, an Italian sign of respect. Bells tolled and many people wept openly.
