I Saw Fire In The Sky

This was a very vivid dream. The dream occurred on a bright sunny day.

I was walking along a black-topped road. My mother and sister Rosie were with me. We were in an upscale salt-water community, perhaps along the coast of California or Florida. Along the sides of the road were guardrails made of steel rods and thick beams of wood painted white, in keeping with a nautical theme.

To our right a ramp went down steeply to wooden docks holding a number of small pleasure craft. Due to the steepness of the ramp, I assumed there was an extra low tide and the tide was out. Right ahead of us the road became a bridge across the water. The length of the bridge was perhaps 75-100 feet.

On the other side of the bridge was more land and a new two story white stucco condominium development. The condos were upscale without being “ritzy”. The condominiums were flying a number of colorful pendants in different colors to advertise that the buildings were now open for inspection and purchase.

There were some people present, both around the condominium development and on our side of the bridge, but it was not crowded with pedestrians.

Suddenly I looked up in the sky, which was a beautiful clear robin’s egg blue. I pointed and said, “Look”! There was a very strange cloud formation. It was a “Tic-Tac-Toe”. The “clouds” were strung together in a long tubular fashion and looked like fluffy marshmallows, whipped egg whites or shaving cream foam.

There was one long stringy cloud set slightly apart from the “marshmallow Tic-Tac-Toe.” I estimate the length of this strange Tic-Tac-Toe at approximately 600 x 600 square feet. It was “up in the air”, but not high up.

Suddenly, along the whole length of the cloud, the single separated individual cloud burst into flames The flames were vivid and very colorful, in shades of red, green, orange, etc. I was reminded of a presto log that has had chemicals added to make “pretty colors” as it burned. Soon the “cloud” began to have black edges – like a roasting marshmallow.

Just after the cloud caught fire and looked like it was melting, it suddenly fell to the ground in one long piece. It fell right in front of the new condominium directly across the bridge, in the direction that we were walking.

As the “cloud” hit the ground it seemed to slither, like a snake or two kids playing together, jerking on a long rope. Luckily the force of the fall caused the flames to be immediately extinguished and no people, cars or buildings had been hit.

My mother turned to go down the boat ramp, but we had to keep going straight ahead, as our destination was on the other side of the bridge, beyond where the “cloud” had fallen.

As we continued to look up, one of the clouds in the actual “Tic-Tac-Toe” suddenly burst into flames. I knew if it fell onto one of the condominiums, the building might catch on fire. I said, “They are practicing!”

I knew whoever was behind this project would keep on working until the pseudo chemical clouds could not be extinguished when they fell to the earth, but would keep burning. Soon they would be used to terrorize populations and start very large fires causing huge property damage and killing or maiming many people.

As I was writing the dream down the thought came to me: “A laser is what will be used to ignite the pseudo chemical clouds”.

I'm EXCEEEEEEEEDINGLY UNDERWHELMED with the corner you seem to be convinced that you have on Scriptural understanding.

It's probably impossible to express well in words how underwhelmed I am.

The most haunting was my dream of a massive pandemic that has killed a significant percentage of the world's population. It caused panic, wars, martial law and general chaos.

I have had another dream about a nuclear attack. If I had not been behind some houses I would have been blinded by the nuke flash. I got out and saw the mushroom cloud forming. The shockwave and sound arrived about 30 seconds later. Where I was it was eerily quiet but as I packed up and left it got more and more chaotic with panic and even fighting amongst other survivors.

I had one more dream where I was put in an internment camp but managed to escape. I had a friend who helped me escape but he dissapeared as I escaped. The prisom camp was nothing compared to the water treatment plant that I passed through. In it, people were injecting biological agents into drinking water. I do not know the events that led to it. I got home to my family and we grabbed as much guns and ammunition as we could carry. The dream ended as we were about to get into a firefight against some strange troops (Whose uniforms I did not recognize. They were flat olive drab with strange red markings on the shoulders. Faces hidden behind some sort of riot gear whose visors were tinted black) who broke in.

Interesting. Judging by how these chemical clouds acted, it seemed as if they were some sort of fuel-air bomb. They usually have their own ignition source but an external ignition source would mean there would be no need for a bomb-casing or a bursting charge.

Well it would be devastating if enough flammable material was released into the air and ignited by an external ignition source. The danger is not just the blast and heat, but it also sucks out all the oxygen in the blast zone, which suffocates anyone who survived the initial blast.

So, should we rip out of our Bibles the Scripture about satan being under our feet?

No offense intended. I was just reminded of that remark when I read Joe Sixpack's comment. As for Satan, his power is woefully underestimated. I was discussing that subject with my Grandfather who made a point I never thought about. That when Jesus was tempted by Satan to be made ruler of the kingdoms, Satan must have been able to carry out his offer. Otherwise, it would not really have been a temptation. As Paul warned he is the god of this earth.

However, Christ won earth back at The Cross. Ratified it with His Resurrection and will conclude the taking possession aspect on His evidently soon return.

And, Jesus evidently gave lots of authority to The Church operating in His Blood, Spirit, humility, unity and Love.

Of course, The Church seems to rarely operate in one of those, much less all of them.

Quix, I am Catholic.

But one thing I do that is unusual to our faith, is that when I pray I say
"I wash myself in the blood of Jesus, and bind Satan's powers against me." (and whoever else I name).

I don't feel it's permanent, probably lasts for 24 hours, silly as that sounds, but I find comfort in doing it. Maybe it's that faith in trusting God that makes it all happen. Who knows?

I've had dreams like that too, where I remember seeing a mushroom cloud go off and there were four of us huddling in the basement, my gradeschool buddy I still hang with, his mom, myself and my mom. After some time, I remember him getting into his F-150 Ford pickup and me into my 1977 Mercury Cougar and going to stores to take supplies we need and I remember rummaging through Radio Shack for radio equipment to hopefully contact other survivors. Another time, I remember a Soviet bomber trying to hit me with an atom bomb to kill me but I kept dodging them in my Cougar ala "Speed Racer" style.

I had a weird dream of that type too, it was the future, I must have been in my mid to late 40's (I'll be 39 this year) and my father must have been a little past 70. My father and I were fighting some force, maybe we were in a civil war and/or fighting some sort of UN or EU troops. I don't know who. I had an M-1 Garand, my father had a double barrelled shotgun. We were trading fire with some of those UN/EU troops and we thought it was best to get out of there. I said to my father, "if we make it to my (1994 Ford) Explorer, we should be fine," as we were running and almost out of breath. I also remember I was married to a Christian lady and had a couple of kids, she was in her early 20's. I woke up after that in a cold sweat.

Lastly, I had a dream, again with my buddy, don't know how or why civilization was nearly in ruins but we hit the road, he had his F-150 towing his mobile home trailer and I had a 1977 Lincoln Continental Mark V towing a U-Haul. We got into a few scrapes along the way, one time my buddy had to come save me when I was cornered by a gang, I ran out of ammo for the Garand and was down to my M1911A1, he came in and saved me. Well we made it to a town relatively untouched, settled down as being mechanics and electronics repair, settled down and got married and went about our lives.

Maybe it was eating too much chocolate, hot wings, pizza, and what not along with a healthy dose of post-apocalyptic (my favorite genre) stories but on the other hand, such dreams like that can mean there is a change coming or needed in your life. At least thats what I've heard dreams like that could mean. I hope that's it, I hate to spend my middle aged years running around the woods like a World War II soldier. B-P

As my chairman said . . . life is soooo complex, just about any cockamaymee idea will do.

While I don't agree with that theologically . . .

I think many factors go into clout in binding prayers. BTW, there's loosing Holy Spirit to minister in stated ways that is the good positive side of such prayers--when included!

Where was I before I so rudely interrupted myself . . . oh,

--There's the purity of the pray-er. Are they confessed up, repented up; covered in The Blood; Walking in The Spirit; re-filled up with The Spirit etc.

--Are they parying according to Holy Spirit's direction and will?

--Are they praying in authority given by Christ and The Spirit generally and specific to that situation?

--Are they praying with anointing specific to that situation?

--Are they praying under Holy Spirit's unction enlivened to them at the beginning; in earlier prayer or in the process?

--Are they praying specifically according to Holy Spirit's will vs presumption?

--Are they praying Scripture; in tongues and/or declarative, authoritatively assertive prayers according to Holy Spirit's leading?

--Are they praying in faith born out of Love?

etc.

Then there are factors inherent in the situation generally in terms of natural realm as well as in terms of the spiritual realm.

--how many satanic forces are arrayed against them how actively etc.

It appears to me that the pontificators on the other side of such issues on this thread have little to no experience to speak out of . . . so they just pontificate.

Thankfully, those of us with hard won experiences and lessons need never be nor feel at the mercy of those with mere arguments.
